The Star Trek Series That Could Save the Franchise

Thanks to years of mismanagement by Paramount’s appointed head, Alex Kurtzman, the Star Trek franchise is in dire straits. Nothing new is being produced, and everything currently streaming has been canceled.
It’s clear that Trek will need another hit show to stay relevant. The best idea for this has been around for over three decades: we need a Star Trek series centered around Captain Kirk. the second time a five-year career.
Machines We’ve Never Seen Between movies

If you just spit out your tea (Earl Grey, hot), you might be surprised to find out that it’s both Star Trek Chronology (released in 1993) and The Star Trek Encyclopedia (released in 1994) both specified that Kirk and crew had a second five-year career after the events of Motion Picture. Effectively, there was a time jump in between Motion Picture again Wrath of Khanand the disgruntled Admiral Kirk we see in that second film is the one who has finally given up on galloping around the galaxy.
With a new Star Trek series set in this era, we can finally explore what happened in between Motion Picture again Wrath of Khan.
Solving the Casting Problem

At first glance, you might think that the biggest hurdle in creating such a Star Trek series would be reprising iconic characters once played by Hollywood heavyweights like William Shatner and Leonard Nimoy. However, Strange New Worlds it already provides minor versions of the main The Original Series characters like Kirk, Spock, Uhura, and Scotty and supporting characters like Chapel and M’Benga. If only these actors could play their roles again In the upcoming Star Trek series, it will take a little effort to cast new characters from the remaining ones TOS characters, such as McCoy, Sulu, and Chekov.
The problem with that plan, of course, is that all of these Star Trek: Strange New Worlds the players act because they are young enough to come out on topThe Original Series versions of these famous characters. However, that’s the beauty of this program: SNW it hasn’t even aired its fourth season yet. By the time the show airs its fifth and final season and Paramount wraps up production on an all-new Star Trek series, all of these characters will be old enough (more or less) to play the part of the post-Motion Picture characters.

If you still think these Strange New Worlds the actors will be very young in this role, it may be good to consider that William Shatner and his real team were also against each other. the old one for the parts they played. You see, The Original Series‘ the final season was set in 2269, too Motion Picture founded in the 2270s. Despite being full a decade between the end of the show and the first movie, TMP it should have happened soon TOS.
Therefore, the characters in this proposed Star Trek series only have to look as old as the TOS crew looked in, say, 1972. That year, William Shatner and Leonard Nimoy were 41 years old. Meanwhile, current Kirk actor Paul Wesley is 43 years old now, and current Spock actor Ethan Peck is 39 years old. Throw in the fact that each of them looks younger than they are, and these two characters look great. complete in the new Star Trek series that takes place in the background Motion Picture.
The Best Way to Bring in New Followers

Apart from simple broadcasting, such a series can be profitable because it will like Star Trek (2009) film, bringing new fans to the franchise. As far as other shows are concerned, this franchise will always be associated with Kirk, Spock, and the classic Enterprise crew. A series focusing on their previously unknown exploits may bring in more fans than any other idea
With my proposed new Star Trek series, Paramount can attract new fans while giving the old ones something we’ve wanted to see for years: an on-screen version of the franchise’s “lost years” that better sets the scene for where our characters are (physically and emotionally) Wrath of Khan.
Problem Solving by Alex Kurtzman

Given that Paramount has been busy trashing everything related to Star Trek: Strange New Worlds universe, there is no doubt that they will take our proposal for a new series very seriously. However, this does not have to be a universal rotation. The look and style of this new show may be completely different. Hopefully, it will also involve a different creative team, one not under the direction of franchise villain Alex Kurtzman.
This theory can work outside of Kurtzman’s regime. Jettison Alex Kurtzman and all who work with him. Bring in an entirely new team (we suggest one led by Terry Matalas) and simply bring back those existing players to play these new versions of the characters.
Matalas already released this one, by the way, with Star Trek: Picard season 3. The first two seasons of Picard they were run by someone else and not at all like them Picard season 3. Matalas took over in season three, banishing everything from the past Picard the group did, and successfully created a new system while retaining a few key members.

That’s Picard’s third season, despite playing Star Trek: The Next Generation cast members, was heavily influenced by the look of Star Trek during this lost period. That’s why the Neo Constitution-class season ship is very similar to the Enterprise refit from Motion Picture.
That’s what Star Trek needs. The entire franchise needs to be granted Picard treatment for season 3, and whether Terry Matalas or someone else is in charge, the lost years of Star Trek may be the best way to save it.
