Days of Our Lives: Who’s Really Behind Sophia’s Alleged Suicide?

Days of Our Lives causing confusion as Sophia Choi (Rachel Boyd) allegedly committed suicide has many people pointing fingers at each other. But in the end, who is really to blame for the loss of this child’s life? We know who hit him in the head. That was Kristen DiMera (Stacy Haiduk) apparently. But there is more to the difference than who struck the final blow.

we will consider that the current story about Sophia’s apparent suicide is a complex situation with many layers of suspicion and deception that we cannot unravel. We have a lot to talk about so let’s do this.

Trusting Kristen DiMera Was Sophia’s Biggest Mistake on Days of Our Lives

So, trusting Kristen may have been the biggest mistake of Sophia’s short life. It’s really deadly. After establishing Rachel Black (Lorelie Olivia Mote), we know that Sophia was afraid that Kristen wanted to hurt her and she did. But the DiMera diva was smart about it.

First, he convinced Sophia that there was another way forward. Kristen admitted that while she was upset that Sophia used her middle daughter Rachel as her drug mule, Kristen insisted that she would let it slide because what she really wants is revenge on her brother EJ DiMera (Dan Feuerriegel).

And Kristen pointed out that Sophia should want that too after what EJ did at the last adoption hearing. And of course, Kristen has it in her delusional head that it’s EJ’s fault that Rachel shot her because she was hiding Kristen’s mother, Rachel Blake (Roslyn Gentle), aka Rachel Senior.

Kristen Has Only Herself to Blame on DOOL

But EJ wouldn’t have done that if Kristen had been smart and gotten her mom out of Salem so she wouldn’t be forced to testify against EJ. There’s the whole, you know, snitches find kind of thing. And finally, he didn’t kill Rachel Senior, which he could have. He just hid him somewhere and the DA found him to put him on trial. And we all know what’s wrong with the kid that her mom Kristen set a terrible example for little Rachel.

So, Kristen came up with a sinister plan to get Sophia to kill Johnny DiMera (Carson Boatman). As Kristen blames Rachel in Bayview on EJ, she thinks she should lose her son Johnny. Also, Kristen knows that Sophia hated Johnny for giving up on Trey’s adoption when it first came out. So, Sophia got busy. He wrote this suicide note blaming his former friend Holly Jonas (Ashley Puzemis) and all of her cyberbullying for his suicide plot.

However, remember that it was Kristen who told Sophia to write a suicide note and leave it there for her family to find. Kristen then gave Sophia the gun and instructions to get Johnny out. But when Sophia took Johnny’s place, she deviated from Kristen’s simple plan and Johnny used a strategy. That’s when things took a turn. But at that time, his fate was already sealed.

Sophia Goes Full Science Fair Nerd on Johnny in Days

When Sophia went astray in the plan to shoot Johnny, we saw Sophia as a person full of scientific genius in her. Sophia knocked Johnny out and then hit him with a gun, tied him up, and here’s the science part. He placed a tea candle next to the accelerant and lit the gas stove. So, he set this death trap, you know, and then Sophia left to finish her fake suicide.

Fortunately, other residents in the apartment building smelled gas, reported the leak, and Javi Hernandez (Jacob Martinez) sneaked in and saved Johnny. And then Sophia went to the outer bridge and Kristen was waiting for her to finish the plan. He wanted to know if Sophia cared, if she killed Johnny. And at that moment, Kristen thought that Sophia did it and that Johnny was dead.

Days of Our Lives: Kristen Betrayed Sophia

And so Sophia expected to get what Kristen promised her, a fake ID, a passport, and money to leave Salem behind and start a new life. He told Sophia, you know, lean over, get your fingerprints on the railing in case the police search. And Kristen said, “Leave your stuff. Throw your shoes.”

With her back to Sophia, Kristen smacked her over the head with a large old rock. Then, after cracking Sophia’s skull, Kristen asked her two rivals to throw Sophia off the bridge.

So while technically, yes, Kristen is the one who killed her, the Salem PD and DA are looking into things, trying to figure out who caused Sophia’s apparent suicide because that’s what everyone thinks is her fate at this point. They still haven’t found his body. And if they did, you know, that should answer a lot of questions because Kristen got bent over her skull with a rock.

Sophia Should Be Blamed for Bad Life Choices on DOOL

Therefore, it is clear that Sophia is responsible for the bad life choices that lead to the time of her death. But we know how crazy he was, Dr. Gregory, whose baby is shrinking, didn’t seem concerned that Sophia was so depressed that she was going to kill herself. Psychotic, for sure. But not by suicide. And after killing Johnny, you know, Sophia planned to fake her death, take Kristen’s money, start this new life in Paris.

And in Sophia’s book, she blamed Holly Jonas (Ashley Puzemis) for pushing her over the edge. Arianna Horton (Vico Escorcia) and Holly had just raided Sophia online and in person. But Holly’s comments about Sophia have sparked outrage and concern on social media. And you know, this was more upheaval for Holly. And right now, Amy Choi (Shi Ne Neilson) is sad and angry. She recently confronted Holly after Jada Hunter (Elia Cantu) told her this time that we think Sophia is really dead that this is no longer a missing person investigation.

Jada told Amy and Jason Choi (Steven O Young) now that they are just trying to get Sophia’s body back. So, Amy wants to sue Holly for cyberbullying Sophia until she killed herself. And we can see public opinion going that way because you know the college youth scene is pretty bad. She knows the other girls in the sorority and things may start with Holly driving Sophia to kill herself.

Amy’s Control Techniques Affect Sophia in Days

Amy is devastated like any mother and doesn’t want to believe that Sophia is going to kill herself. So Amy blames Holly. And that makes sense because Sophia’s note specifically mentions Holly by name. But like Kristen did with Rachel, I don’t think Amy is considering her own parenting issues while looking for answers in Days of Our Lives.

Because even before Sophia went off the deep end, Amy was very controlling, not allowing Sophia to terminate her pregnancy for religious reasons. And for those same reasons, Amy was pushing Sophia to keep the baby. He tried to pressure Tate Black (Leo Howard) and Sophia to get married, raise a child, skip college.

But in the end Amy agreed to be adopted because she had no other choice as Sophia was 18 at the time. But Amy kept trying to control that again. It keeps limiting their options. And I think maybe he was hoping that Sophia would keep the baby in the end, you know. But it didn’t work that way.

Days of Our Lives: Amy Can’t See Her Faults

But Amy can’t seem to take responsibility for how her uber controlling ways have affected Sophia and her decisions. And in the end, the plot he concocted with Kristen was surely the one that ended his life with a rock crash. But there were many choices along the way and people who contributed to his reaching that point.

So at this point, it looks like Kristen definitely killed her even though her body hasn’t appeared yet and Sophia is torturing Kristen. Now, Salem, so there’s a chance he survived and is still downstream with traumatic brain injury, maybe a small dose of amnesia.

Hopefully her body will be found soon, and will show clear signs of murder, which should clear Holly’s name. But then a whodunit will begin and Amy might try to pin that on Holly as well. The bottom line is that Amy wants someone to blame because she can’t deal with the horrible fact that she ultimately played a part in what happened to her daughter Sophia.
