The facilitator Lillian Droniak – known as Grandma Droniak to her 15 million TikTok followers – said she was asked to leave her retirement community.
“I’m getting kicked out of the nursing home,” Droniak, 96, said recently TikTok video, holding a letter that he apparently received from this institution. It says, ‘You’re fired if you don’t stop the parties.’
Droniak, who is happy to host ragers at his house, explained that he was told that “parties are not allowed” on the premises. The rules also state that he is not allowed to serve alcohol to other residents.
“‘This letter is a formal warning,'” Droniak read aloud, just before he pulled out the papers. “I pay $12,000 a month to live here. I can have parties if I want. My girlfriends are coming over today, we’ll drink and gossip. It’s not a party, but we’re having a blast.”
He went on to say, “I can’t help myself, I love the event, you can’t stop me.”
Droniak was given a preliminary notice following noise complaints from residents.
“We are trying to contact you because there have been many complaints about your room. Parties are not allowed and you cannot serve alcohol to other residents,” reads the letter, which Droniak points to the camera in his photos. “This is a security concern.”
The letter continued, “While we encourage residents to participate and enjoy community activities, we cannot hold unruly parties. It is shown on security footage that people were leaving your room at 1 a.m. last Tuesday. Continued incidents of this nature may result in restrictions on visitors and common property rights, and may lead to further review of your citizenship status in the community. Please kindly cooperate in ensuring that there are no future peaceful gatherings.

Despite the warning, Droniak grabbed a group of friends. She even shared an after-party update the next day.
“Hungover from last night’s party,” she wrote on TikTok video of her wearing a t-shirt that reads, “To Do List: Your Dad” while smiling at the camera. “My nursing home cannot stop me from the events in the last chapter of my life.”
Droniak continued his upload, “I can’t help myself, I love to party and I can’t stop.”
Droniak moved to the facility in 2024 after breaking his leg in a fall and has “resolved” a dispute with his building, according to a representative. People Sunday, June 28.
