Courteney Cox shared the latest exciting giveaway Friends director James Burrows after his death at the age of 85.
“I will miss you so much Jimmy… the joy and laughter you brought to everyone who knew you. How much you cared… but I know your light will always shine on us,” Cox, 62, wrote on Instagram on Saturday, June 20.
In her memoir, Cox shared a funny memory of Burrows, who directed 15 episodes of the film. Friendsincluding the 1994 pilot, “The One Where It All Began.”
“Jimmy B called me Cox-N-Hammer,” he revealed. “I don’t know why or what it means, but I just went with it because it was Jimmy Burrows.”
Actress Monica Geller recalled that Burrows was a significant influence on the game Friends broadcast at the beginning of the game, it usually gives advice and prepares them for the spectacle.
“He always called us ‘kids’… he took the actor under his wing and taught us everything we needed to know – be it through his guidance, or telling us how things would turn out in our lives – he never sugar coated and he was always right,” he wrote on Saturday. “I would have begged him to spend more time directing us, but also his other performances, because everything was better when he was there. He felt safe and confident and man, we had so much fun!”
Cox also touched on his relationship with Burrows from afar Friends explaining that he enjoyed watching his romance with his second wife Debbie Easton before their 1997 wedding. (Burrows shares three daughters with his first wife, Wait for Solomonand a stepdaughter with Easton.)
“I’m not sure how someone with so much talent, intelligence, and adoration can be so selfless,” he added. “Doing whatever was the best was what was important to Jimmy… that and his beautiful children and his beautiful wife, Debbie. I loved watching them fall in love.”
Burrows’ family announced Friday, June 19, that the 11-time Emmy winner has died at the age of 85 following a brief illness.
“Burrows understood that good humor wasn’t just about laughs, it was about humanity, connection and truth,” his family said in a statement. “His influence will continue to be felt for generations through the many artists he inspired, the stories he helped tell and the millions of people whose lives were highlighted by his work. … He will be greatly missed and remembered forever.”
Burrows has directed many of television’s most popular sitcoms, including Will & Grace, Frasier, The Bob Newhart Show again The Mary Tyler Moore Show. He created Happiness with Glenn again Les Charles in 1982.
The director was inducted into the TV Hall of Fame in 2006 and received his own NBC tribute in 2016, featuring rare encounters with NBC actors. Friends.

He continued, “Above all, he taught us – the kids – how important it is to love and respect each other. To take care of each other. To have each other’s backs and support each other, no matter what. And we’re doing just that.”
