Olympian David Hearn Arrested for Touching Lincoln Memorial Pool

Olympian David Hearn was arrested for allegedly touching the Lincoln Memorial Reflecting Pool between the President Donald TrumpAlleged vandalism has taken place at the monument.
The passenger, 67, said Washington Post on Saturday, June 20, where he was taken into custody accused of destroying government property the previous day and was detained for five hours before he was finally released. Hearn was ordered to appear in Washington DC Superior Court on July 9.
Per Hearn, combined the 52-mile bike ride with a stop at the Lincoln Memorial Reflecting Pool, which has undergone a $14 million renovation project to paint the bottom of the pool “the blue American flag.” The athlete said he saw part of the liner separated and put his hand in the water to see what the piece looked like.
“I didn’t destroy or break or peel anything,” he told the press Submit. “When I saw what was happening, I was handcuffed.”
He added, “I put my hand in there, and I was able to grab the end of that flapping piece, the piece that was coming off, it was still stuck to the ground, I didn’t take anything out.”
The 2000 Summer Olympic rower insisted he “didn’t destroy anything.”
Conservative Emily Miller shared photos of Hearn’s arrest, though he said he was “holding a hose used by female National Park Service workers to remove algae.” Hearn denied that, although he admitted that his bike may have hit the pipe.

The incident occurred hours before Trump, 80, claimed via TruthSocial that vandals were responsible for the damage to the Lincoln Memorial Reflecting Pool.

Like three days ago, they destroyed the grass outside the Pool, and did everything they could to damage the newly installed interior.”
I New York Times reported on Friday that the lake appears to be abandoning aspects of its renovation, with excessive peeling, “parts of clothing” and parts of the “blue American flag” visible to tourists amid an ongoing algae crisis.
Trump insisted that saboteurs somehow used chemicals “to destroy and undermine our good work,” although those allegations have yet to be proven.
“It is a shame that Radical Left Lunatics, possibly Dumocats, who have spent their lives trying to destroy our country, are free to do so,” the president said on Friday. “Law enforcement is investigating this situation, and I hope to resolve it soon. Thank you for your attention to this matter!”
