Why Kristin Cavallari’s Kids Are Flying Economy While In 1st Class

Kristin Cavallari she’s teaching her kids the value of a dollar – by limiting their access to luxury travel.
While appearing on the “Aspire with Emma Grede” podcast on Tuesday, July 7, the The hills alum, 39, explained that he usually makes his children fly economy when he chooses to enter first class when he travels.
Cavallari, who shares three children, Camden, 13, Jaxon, 12, and Saylor, 10, with her ex-husband Jay Cutlerhe emphasized that there are good reasons for his choice of parent.
“I really appreciate the way my mother raised me financially,” said Cavallari Grade. So my kids don’t just get whatever they want, and if they want something, they have to work for it.”
The host of the “Masithembeke” podcast said that it is important for his children to develop the way of working that he teaches.
“So, a good example is last summer, both of my boys started their own small businesses, so one of my boys was washing windows, people’s windows,” she said. “And one was washing people’s trash cans because if they want to do something, they have to work for it.

“I try to be more aware of that because they grow up in a privileged environment and I want them to know that this is my money, this is not your money,” continued Cavalari. “And you know, a little thing like a flight instructor and flying first class, that was important to me when they were old enough to know.”
Cavallari isn’t the first celebrity to be outspoken about taking the controversial step of buying first-class tickets for his family members, even if they can’t afford them. A celebrity chef Gordon Ramsay previously echoed the same sentiment.
Talking to The Telegraph in 2017, Ramsay, 62, said he never lets his children fly first class. (Ramsay and his wife, Tanashared six children: Megan28, Holly26, Jack26, Tilly, 24, Oscar, 7, and Jesse, 2.).
“I have to keep it real with the kids, and I think just getting five, six and seven-year-olds, who are used to going to first class and those big seats, they don’t need space, they’re getting entertainment on their iPads,” he told the outlet at the time.
He added, “I don’t want them to sit with champagne with 10 courses. I’m not ashamed, my wife and I choose to discipline them and keep them real.”
