The McBee Dynasty Family Ups and Downs Through the Ages

The McBee Dynasty: The Real American Cowboys the light shines Steven “Steve” McBee and his family as they manage their farm in Missouri – but not all things are always smooth sailing for the farmers.

Steve and his ex-wife, Kristi McBeethey were married for 28 years before his infidelity came to light, leading to her filing for divorce. The two, who share sons Steven McBee Jr., Jesse McBee, Cole McBee again Brayden McBeethey were separated in 2019.

Despite his personal grief, Steve’s dream of building McBee Farm & Cattle Co. and the great business continued with the help of his sons. However, in November 2024, Steve pleaded guilty to one count of crop insurance fraud, breaking up their family and farm.

“We’re taking it day by day,” Steven said to himself Us Weekly of the family plan in July 2025. “The situation is still ongoing. We hope to wrap it up and have an end to it before the end of the year. That’s the goal, so we can continue to say, ‘Okay, we got this. We can start life again now.'” Steve was sentenced to two years in prison on October 20.

1998

Steve bought his first property, a 300 acre parcel in Missouri.

2005

After buying more land and having “issues” with a local farmer he hired, Steve took on the farming role himself, according to the company’s website.

2009

Steve added cattle ranching to his business by expanding the farm to include ranching. The company will later add buffalo to its farm animal lineup.

2018

When Steven joined the farm full time, he made Apex Protein Snacks as an offshoot of the company. Apex sells high-protein snacks, including walking sticks.

2019

“Steve and I were married for 28 years. Then I started to find out that there was a lot of infidelity,” Kristi said in season 2. The McBee dynastynoting that he filed for divorce in 2019.

After their separation, Kristi founded her own company, Lan-Tel Communications. “Steve said I’m going to drop it in six months,” he said on a July 2025 episode of the Bravo series, describing his business as “communications, real estate and [a] solid company.”

He revealed, “We were able to grow the business three times the size it was. A sweet little revenge.”

2022

Steven played Joe Millionaire: Rich or Poorwhich premiered in January. At the show he met Call Jackson. The couple met and dated from 2021 to 2024.

In June, the McBees opened their first McBee’s Coffee N’ Carwash in Missouri. As of September 2025, there were eight locations in Missouri and three in Arkansas.

2023

In the summer of 2023, the family expanded their business and opened a McBee Meat Co. location. in Lamoni, Iowa, brings its products from one farm to another. That same year, the team filmed season 1 of The McBee Dynasty: The Real American Cowboys.

2024

The McBee dynasty it was first shown on Pigogo in March, following the life of this family as farmers and ranchers. That same September, the family launched their “Meet the McBees” podcast.

In October, second oldest son Jesse married his high school sweetheart, Alli McBeein Missouri. A month later, Steve pleaded guilty to complicity in a multi-million dollar fraud scheme.

Steve was charged in November with crop insurance fraud after he was accused of lying about his yields and misrepresenting the use of his crops. His conviction took place the following year.

In the midst of all this chaos, the McBees celebrate the birth of Cole with a girlfriend Kacie AdkisonFirst child, daughter Blair, in December. Blair is Steve and Kristi’s first grandchild.

2025

The McBees expanded their brood in April with the birth of Jesse and Alli’s first child, daughter Summer.

In June, season 2 of The McBee dynasty premiered on Bravo. It was renewed for a 3rd season in October.

As fans learn more about Steve’s legal troubles, the family awaits his sentencing, which comes in October. The judge ruled that Steve must serve two years in prison and another two years on supervised release. Us confirmed that Steve was ordered to pay $4,022,124 in restitution. He also owes about $3 million. According to court documents, Steve has until 2pm on December 1st to turn himself in.

In exciting news, Cole proposed to longtime girlfriend Kacie in November with a little help from their daughter Blair.

2026

In March, Cole and Kacie announced they were expecting their second child, a girl.

The following month, Steven shocked fans there blame his girlfriend, Allie Eklundof cheating on him during the Stagecoach Music Festival in Indio, California.

“I still don’t know what happened,” he said of Instagram video in April. “I just know that it was holding hands, grinding, dancing, getting drunk at the party.”

Steven continued, “I don’t know what was on his mind at the party other than there’s a hole that needs attention all the time. … I thought there was some honesty there.”

Allie later he was silent about the situation and said it was “very disappointing and very wrong” to put their business on social media.

“I handled everything in this relationship privately and respectfully, even when it wasn’t easy,” he said about Ndaba on Instagram. “This situation is painful, and I wouldn’t wish it on anyone. I’m not looking to escalate things, I want it to end here. I’ve said what I think is necessary about his actions and I plan to take time to process and move forward.
