Laura Dern Breaks Silence on Death of Costar Sam Neill

The loss was sudden and unexpected but blessed that Sam remained cancer free.”
The statement concluded, “They would like to express their deepest gratitude to the staff at St Vincent’s Private Hospital for their wonderful care. More details will be shared later, but in the meantime, on behalf of the family, we ask that you respect their privacy as they deal with this immeasurable loss.”
Neill revealed in his 2023 memoir that he was diagnosed with stage III angioimmunoblastic T-cell lymphoma. He was put on an anti-cancer drug after chemotherapy didn’t work. When it was considered that he was recovering, the doctors told him that the medicine would eventually stop working.
