Hit and Run Testimony Featuring Kyle Vasey Explains the Aftermath

A woman at the scene of the shooting hospitalized the former Penn State football player Kyle Vasey he killed his fiancee, Corinne Moredetails of immediate results are shared.
“I live near where this incident happened and I was at home at the time,” Amy Dore wrote on a GoFundMe set up in Vasey’s name on Wednesday, June 10. “In the midst of something so sad, the many people who rushed to help remind me of the compassion in our community. I looked at Kyle before the paramedics arrived and saw his concern for the other victims, even in those early hours.”
Vasey, 30, and More, 35, were struck while walking on the sidewalk near More’s Colorado home on June 3, by a 28-year-old man. Adam Bausermanwho was driving with a suspended license from a previous DUI.
Vasey was seriously injured and remains hospitalized, while More did not survive. The third person, 72 years old Dianne WindesHe was also hit by a car and hospitalized due to his injuries.
“What sticks out to me the most is Kyle’s concern for his fiancee and the other victim for his injuries,” the witness continued. “Despite suffering so much, he focused on others – an expression of great humanity, sacrifice, and love. My thoughts and prayers go out to all those involved, their families, and all those whose lives have been changed forever.”
Vasey — who played for the Nittany Lions from 2018 to 2019 — “endured multiple fractures throughout his body,” his left arm being the only limb uninjured.
“He has 3 broken ribs and 3 ribs,” Kyle’s mother, Shelleyposted on the GoFundMe page. “So far he has had six surgeries. He is currently on a ventilator and is under sedation to help manage the pain while his body recovers. Thankfully there was no major head trauma, and everyone is hopeful that he will recover. However, it is expected to be a long road to recovery.”
He added, “For now we ask for your thoughts and prayers for a speedy recovery of his body, heart and mind.”
The GoFundMe has raised more than $58,000 at press time.
Bauserman fled the scene after hitting the three people, but was eventually caught by authorities.
The incident remains under investigation, but police did not suspect Bauserman was under the influence of any substance. Officials are awaiting the results of Bauserman’s blood test to confirm.
Witnesses said Bauserman aimed his car at pedestrians.
“If we can prove it, we’ll do it,” Douglas County Sheriff Darren Weekly he told CBS News. “But at the moment we have no indication of that.”
