Days of Our Lives: Lexie Dies Again? Actress Exits Shocker!

Days of Our Lives she’s amazing as Lexie Carver (Nikki Crawford) resurrected after being thought dead for ten and a half years. But leaked information shows that the magical treatment of Dr. Wilhelm Rolf (Richard Wharton) may not end, or that Lexie may suffer some kind of problems and her loved ones may abandon her again.

And while it might hurt Theo and Abe Carver (James Reynolds) a lot, it looks like Days of Our Lives we may not get the happy ending we expect with Lexie’s return. There’s a lot to unpack, so let’s dive right in.

Actress Nikki Crawford Was Hired for Only Six Months on Days of Our Lives

So, I’ve seen some discussion on social media about Lexie’s death as well. But this was largely speculation. I actually reached out to our publisher who has a behind-the-scenes source, and they send me good stuff when they have it. And they also answer questions when I ask if they have some information. So, I asked about Theo Carver’s (Cameron Johnson) mother, and our source confirmed that actress Nikki Crawford was only hired for a limited time of six months.

And our insider said the actress filmed scenes as Lexie from April to September 2025. Now, as you know, Days of Our Lives it germinates about 9 to 10 months before its spiritual days. And our source also said that in the scenes filmed by Nikki Crawford, they are probably in the middle of her place. So, they said they broadcast the episodes he recorded last July. So that means we have to have Lexie Carver for a few more months.

But according to them, Nikki Crawford folded Days of Our Lives eight months ago. And this begs the question, is the serum of Dr. Rolf and the Versix combination, you know, is it really the miracle cure for death that he and EJ DiMera (Dan Feuerriegel) think it is, or did it really need more testing before Rolf and EJ gave it to Lexie?

Dr.’s formula Rolf wasn’t always Perfect on DOOL

Now, we know that Rolf’s revival recipes have brought back many dead people in Salem over the years. But they didn’t always restore them to perfect condition. And you know, many times it was people who had just died and were saved right away. Like Will Horton (Chandler Massey), remember, he came back. But his memories didn’t last long.

He died at the hands of a serial killer, Ben Weston (Robert Scott Wilson), and Jack Deveraux (Matthew Ashford). I think he’s dead. It was like an elevator crash and he was the one with post-awakening amnesia. And if I remember correctly, I think Stefan DiMera (Brandon Barash) thought he was Jake DiMera (also Brandon Barash) for a while after he was resurrected. I will say that Megan Hathaway (Miranda Wilson) didn’t seem to have any major problems. But he came back completely mad. He was like that before he died, too. Needless to say, Rolf’s formula was not perfect.

And Lexie has been dead for about 15 years. So, Rolf mixed his usual serum with Versix. And that of course is an amazing drug. It saved Bo Brady from the brink of death from sepsis last summer. And apparently the drug Rolf and Mark were testing on mice and for Lexie it helps regenerate brain cells and other cells in the body, which was very important because Abe’s wife died in his arms from a cancerous brain tumor.

EJ Will Be Grieving Losing Lexie And Dates

So, everyone is happy that Lexie is back. Abe thanks EJ this week, who is thrilled that he was able to successfully revive his sister Lexie. But her happiness with Abe may be short-lived. In a recent interview, Dan Feuerriegel said that his character EJ feels bad when something unexpected happens. So, Dan may be referring to Lexie getting sick and dying again. Currently, EJ is already counting the millions he plans to make to sell this miracle cure.

And of course, EJ will be devastated to lose his big payday. But that would be nothing compared to how she would feel if Lexie’s cancer returned. EJ would be devastated again if he lost his sister, Lexie, for the second time. EJ and Lexie were very close before she died of a brain tumor. And of course, EJ knows that her father, Stefano DiMera (Joseph Mascolo), wanted to find a way to cure Lexie and bring her back. So, right now, you’re doing well. But that could change at any time.

Three Choices for Lexie’s Future

Given what appears to be solid information about actress Nikki Crawford only signing up for six months, there are three options. Lexie lives or dies or is respawned. I will say that we haven’t heard anything from recasts, although, I think, there have been five or six casts over the years, including the latest one.

Lexie’s longest-running portrayal was Renee Jones, who played Lexie from 1993 until her death in 2012. And then, of course, we got a visit from Abe’s late wife Paulina Price (Jackée Harry) on her deathbed in 2024. So, it wouldn’t shock Lexie if they did it again. But I have never heard any speech repeated.

Days of Our Lives: Will Abe Come Out of Days of Our Lives?

So, if she lives though, there’s still a possible happy ending for Abe and Lexie. So, there is a world where they get their happy ending. James Reynolds, who plays Abe in the Peacock soap, he may be looking to retire. You will never know. You know, James Reynolds is 79 years old, and he may be ready to retire from soap acting.

Therefore, we can get a twist when Lexie and Abe decide to leave the world and enjoy their second chance with happiness, as they did with Bo Brady (Peter Reckell) and Hope Brady (Kristian Alfonso) after his resurrection. So, Lexie and Abe can go do all those bucket list things they wanted to do before Lexie died years ago and she might end up surviving and then decide she wants to spend every minute with Abe and Theo making up for lost time. However, that is not a very soapy effect. So I tend to think that poor Lexie might have some complications or her tumor has regrown.

The Soapiest Effect Can Hurt

Right now Kayla Brady (Mary Beth Evans) says everything looks good. And I think Lexie will seem okay for a while. You know, she might be okay long enough for Abe to reunite with her and Theo to invest in another chance with his mother. Obviously, you know, for damage to be done, it would be best if Lexie, Theo, and Abe were all reunited and happy and then the pressing news comes. That would be a very important thing.

I mean, can you imagine how upset Theo and Abe would be if Lexie got sick again? If his cancer comes back and his tumor grows, you know, Theo lost his mother when he was young. Lexie missed most of her life growing up. Therefore, it would be very painful for Theo to say goodbye to Lexie a second time. And Abe, you know, lost the love of his life and a mother to his son. And, you know, he might die of a broken heart if Lexie turns up and dies again.

Days of Our Lives: EJ Will Be Crushed

Moreover, his siblings would be upset. And since EJ set this all up, funded everything, got Versix for Rolf to do this healing magic on Lexie. Obviously EJ is going to be frustrated. But he will be blamed again if Lexie dies again. And you know, either the cancer comes back or some other medical problem in his wake that can take Abe’s wife from him again.

If that happens, everyone will have to recreate Lexie and play the blame game and EJ will come up short apparently. Paulina and Lexie soon meet and I suspect Paulina will become her friend. You know, how can he? And if Lexie dies again, it’s obvious that Paulina will be there to comfort Abe if he loses his beloved wife again. So, we’ll see how it goes.

You know, they could have Hope and Bo run into the sunset thing or a soapier outcome since we know Nikki Crawford had a short run that poor Lexie dies again. Wait and see. I will say that nothing is confirmed yet. So, if you see this elsewhere as a solid fact that you will die, there are no guaranteed spoilers for it yet. But I think it will go that way.
