Counselor Allegedly Referred Schools To ‘Victim’ Youth

Authorities in Baytown, Texas, are searching for a former guidance counselor wanted for sexually assaulting a male student who allegedly followed him from elementary school to high school, requesting a transfer.
Former Goose Creek Memorial High School counselor Lorinda Bocardo He is on the run after resigning from his job after January 5.
Bocardo, 43, is accused of sexually abusing a 15-year-old male student since he was in elementary school in 2022.
On Friday, April 10, a judge signed a warrant charging Bocardo with indecency with a child and improper relationship with a student.
Bocardo’s resignation came less than a month after the victim spoke to campus police about years of sexual abuse, and weeks before the school board met to discuss his dismissal.
The victim reportedly told investigators that when she was in elementary school, Bocardo was “very nice and cool,” alleged an affidavit that was allegedly shared with Us Weekly.
The student added that he would spend many hours in Bocardo’s office, and that he would do his homework there. He didn’t know what to say when the counselor told him he loved her.
When the student started high school in 2024, he said he ran into Bocardo in the hall and was surprised. “I transferred to your school to be with you,” the affidavit explains.
Bocardo allegedly locked his office door while the victim was with him. He said he asked her if she could date an older woman before he called her beautiful and kissed her.
The probable cause affidavit also said Bocardo put her “bare breasts” in the child’s face and was “going to get to know” her as well. He also allegedly asked to sleep with her in his car and touched her hat with her clothes, investigators said.
The victim also said that Bocardo was always jealous when the student talked to girls, and that he was distant from his friends because of the counselor’s behavior, he read in an affidavit that may have been the cause.
The Goose Creek Consolidated Independent School District released a statement on Wednesday, April 15, saying they “have a zero tolerance policy regarding the safety of our students and will take immediate and decisive action when misconduct is reported. As always, Goose Creek CISD’s top priority remains the safety and security of the students we are entrusted with.”
