On Monday, British journalist Janet Murray uploaded a screenshot of an article she wrote for UnHerd, titled, “What I learned from my online battle with Hugh Laurie.” The entire online debate started when Murray wrote a review of “House,” which Laurie starred in from 2004 to 2012.

Murray wrote in X on Monday that Laurie’s response to his criticism sparked “some horrible violations.” Laurie apologized in a lengthy tweet.

“If it’s any consolation, I got it in the throat too. I’m a thin-skinned t–t, obviously, though it wasn’t my skin. I was attached to the writers I admired. Obviously I shouldn’t have mentioned Bach/Kahlo/Moore – I’m asking for trouble – and I could have done better, written the same song for bar 10.

The patient almost dies. Hugh Laurie gets the wrong diagnosis again. He’s threatened with deportation. The patient almost dies again. Hugh Laurie has an idea to get rightfield’s diagnosis at the last minute. This?” wrote to X.

Laurie wrote back: “Thanks for your criticism, Janet. We actually tried a few episodes where House (Hugh Laurie) (please put the brackets in the right place) got it right the first time, but it was only 6 minutes long. NBC was not happy. Then we tried others where House never got it right and the patient died. The audience was not happy.”
