Cardi B responds to rumors that she has been buying expensive bags and passing them off as gifts from her husband Offset.
The “Bodak Yellow” rapper, 33, spoke out when a fan shared a clip of him unpacking his bag and said “he’s been buying his own bags all this time and he’s letting you think Offset’s a waste.”
“NEVER … I’m not someone who would do lame things like that … there were no money problems when I was in control,” Cardi responded via X on Saturday, April 11.
Fans know that Cardi has an extensive collection of ultra-exclusive Birkin bags from Hermés that have been worth more than $2 million by some estimates.
She was married to Offset (real name Kiari Kendrell Cephus) from 2017 until they separated in 2023. In December 2023, Cardi told fans she was “single for a minute now” and subsequently filed for divorce the following July.
The former couple has three children: daughter Kulture Kiari Cephus, 7, son Wave Set Cephus, 4, and daughter Blossom Belle Cephus, 1. Offset, 34, also fathers sons Jordan Cephus, 16, and Kody Cephus, 11, and daughter Kalea Marie Cephus, 11, from his fourth relationship with a boy. Stephen Diggs in November 2025.
Cardi has yet to publicly respond to the news that Offset was shot near the Hard Rock Hotel & Casino in Hollywood, Florida, on Monday, April 6.
Two people have been arrested by Florida police in connection with the incident. He’s a rapper Lil Tjay He was also arrested for disorderly conduct for allegedly being involved in a fight before the shooting.

“We are issuing this release regarding false rumors that Lil Tjay was involved in a shooting that occurred in the Valet Area of the Seminole Hard Rock Hollywood there. [resulted] in the non-life-threatening injuries of Offset, a former member of Migos,” said Florio in a statement.” Lil Tjay has not been shot, and Lil Tjay has never been charged with a shooting. Any reporting to the contrary is false. We encourage people to contact trusted media sources, and verify the accuracy of any reporting, before sharing false information or repeating baseless rumours.”
Meanwhile, Offset spent most of the week in a Florida hospital before his representative confirmed that he was released on Friday, April 10.
“Offset is out of the hospital, and he’s up and walking,” his rep said Us Weekly. “We are very grateful to the doctors, nurses and all the hospital staff who took such good care of him.”
Offset shared his own statement to reassure his fans that he is on the road to recovery.
“Thank you to everyone who came in and showed me love! I’m beautiful … but I plan to be better,” she said. “I’m focused on my family, my recovery and my return to music … I realize that life is about quiet wins and big losses … Life is a gamble, and I’m still playing to win.”
