Survivor CEO Jeff Probst Responds Amid Mistake Controversy

A survivor the host Jeff Probst tried to end the disagreement among the viewers after he accidentally spoiled the result of the challenge during the season 50 finale.

“I love doing live television,” Probst, 64, joked as he tried to explain himself during the live finale on Wednesday, May 20.

In the past, viewers watched Aubry Bracco win the last challenge and save Joe Hunterthus sending Rizo Velovic again Jonathan Young to the challenge of making a spontaneous fire. (The iconic fire-making challenge was used to decide who would join Bracco, 40, and Hunter, 46, on the hot-weather Council of Nations.)

During one of the live segments of the finals, Probst called Velovic, 26, to discuss how daunting the challenge of starting a fire can be.

Probst was throwing a punch when he called Velovic “the last member of our jury.” The host looked confused and the audience was silent, as Probst messed up the result of the fire challenge before it played.

“What just happened?” Probst asked.

“They haven’t seen the fire,” shouted one of the contestants, Velovic clarified, “The fire hasn’t arrived yet.”

The audience began to gasp as Probst admitted, “I’m not sure what happened but next time, we’re going to surprise the players one last time.”

A survivor fans were shocked that Probst accidentally won one of the most anticipated challenges in the show’s history.

“50 seasons have come in A survivorJeff Probst just spoiled the finale’s grand finale score… live on air, during the finale,” one viewer wrote on X on Wednesday. “I can’t believe we just saw that. What do you mean live NO DELAY.”

Another fan was also disappointed, writing, “Jeff is messing up his own show… oh man it’s time for bed.”

“Jeff intentionally saw the result in a live rally so he wouldn’t do it again,” joked a third viewer.

Once A survivor back from commercial break, Probst tried to explain to viewers what went wrong.

“In case you’re confused, here’s what happened,” he began. “We were going to show you how to put out a fire and then take out the key to light the fire, Rizo, and we talked about how if he had practiced lighting the fire, maybe he would have won. A survivor twist, the final twist of the season. We call it, ‘Exploring the future.’ Now, we will watch Rizo lose to Jonathan by fire.”

The mistake sparked speculation among fans on social media about whether it might be time for Probst to retire A survivor manage after 50 seasons.

Specially speaking Us Weekly before the launch of the 50th season, Probst said he hoped to stay involved A survivor for a long time to come.

“We live inside a small box that is the format of Survivor, but when you get inside that small box, you realize that the space is huge,” Probst explained. “You can try all kinds of things. So, for example, if you hire a different kind of person to host, then you bring in a different kind of person to produce, and you take their different ideas, it seems like the show can go a completely different way.

He added, “I think it’s going on, and I hope that even if I’m not the show host, maybe there’s a way that I can, you know, participate because I love this show.”

When the challenge of starting a fire was spoiled, A survivor viewers were able to watch the final Tribal Council play out as intended. Bracco won the grand prize of $2 million and a new Toyota Land Cruiser after defeating Young and Hunter by an 8-3-0 judges’ vote.
