Nick Cannon Shares The ‘Double Standard’ He Has With Twins

Father of 12 Nick Cannon opens up about the “double standard” she has with her 15-year-old twins Moroccan and Monroe when it comes to dating.
“My son [Moroccan] he was in love, and I allowed it, I encouraged it,” the America’s Got Talent again Maskandi singer The host, 45, said during an appearance on the Saturday, May 2, episode of “The TMZ Podcast.”
When the podcast host told the comedian they hoped she was “allowing and encouraging that” to her daughter Monroe, too, Cannon abruptly replied, “No, not at all.”
“First of all, it’s a complete double standard,” he continued. “And I know that I get into a lot of trouble because I talk about things in my chest. But there is a difference when you raise a son and you raise a daughter.”
The comedian and actor added, “I am very protective of my daughter because there is [are] things out there that I have to protect my daughter from. Like, as we know, there’s a certain type of people you want to keep your daughter away from.”

“If someone lays hands on my daughter, I will go to jail,” Cannon continued on Saturday. “If a man puts his hands on my daughter, it is my worst nightmare because I will go to jail forever.”
In a September 15, 2025, interview on “The Breakfast Club,” Cannon — who has received a lot of criticism for having twelve children with multiple women — described his fatherhood as a “painful” response to his split from Carey, 57.
“I didn’t get a chance to slow down until I got into treatment,” Cannon said at the time. “But I just said, ‘Look, I have to keep making money. I have to stay hot. And everything else was selfish. And I didn’t do the work. So I was looking after 12 kids later. Wow, I would have done things very differently.”
He added, “But I stand firm in all my decisions because I love all my children. I love the infrastructure of my family. But I know that everything started from a place of pain and it does not heal well.”
