The Young and the Restless: Matt & Phyllis Toxic Romance – The Newman Family Explodes!

The Young and the Restless Hints about Matt Clark (Roger Howarth) and whether he’s going to be Phyllis Summers’ (Michelle Stafford) next love interest. We know Matt isn’t going anywhere anytime soon. And that means there are all kinds of opportunities ahead, including a fling with Phyllis. And I’ll tell you why I know he’s not going anywhere.

We’ll get into how and why Y&R he may have a long term plan to keep Matt in Genoa City despite his long list of crimes and how Phyllis may play into all of this.

Matt Clark Remains Mentally Lost in The Young and the Restless

So this week, Matt remains lost in his mind without knowing who he is other than his name and the fact that Noah Newman and Victor Newman (Eric Braeden) hate him. Although Matt is brought back by a shocking memory of Nick Newman (Joshua Morrow) punching him in the face, he doesn’t even know who it is. But when Phyllis saw that she was talking to Matt Clark, the guy the Newmans wanted to find, Phyllis knew he was always busy.

She hid Matt this week in the closet GCAC she warned him, “Don’t get lost. And so Phyllis and Michael Baldwin (Christian LeBlanc) went to the Newman farm and dangled Matt’s promise in their faces. Phyllis demanded that Victor shut down Christine Blair Romalotti (Lauralee Bell) and make sure she didn’t prosecute him for stealing Newman using that fake AI that produced evidence that Victor built.”

Victor Wants Matt on Y&R

So, he’s interested in getting his hands on Matt, especially since Nick is up and running around planning to kill a target with the crazy idea that he can get Detective Burrow (Matt Cohen) to join him in his defense if it’s obvious he’s killing one. That’s how it is when you plan ahead to kill someone. And Victor agreed with Phyllis that he could trade Matt for dropping the charges against him. However, he also wants to Newman Enterprises back.

I mean, it seems like a foregone conclusion that Phyllis won’t be able to keep the Newmans company. Therefore, he may negotiate some kind of purchase. You know, Victor finds Matt no Newman then Phyllis gets the charges dropped and a few million dollars. You know, we’ll see how that negotiation goes. But from there, you’d think Matt would be sleeping on the floor or going to jail. However, there is new information that says it won’t go that way.

Behind The Scenes Info Says Matt Is Sticking To The Young And The Restless

With the May sweeps wrapping up next week on Wednesday, May 20, you can expect to see Victor find Matt and blossom, it’s over. But here is the new information. Okay, so last week on May 6th, Michelle Stafford posted a video from Hair and Makeup at Y&R behind the scenes and it showed him getting ready to film that day.

So, the stuff that’s being filmed on May 6 will be airing in early to mid-June because they’re filming about 4 weeks earlier. And that’s fine. Obviously we expect Phyllis to be there then, of course. But then he turned to his camera and said, “Look who’s with me here.” Michelle said, “Here I am with the great Roger Howarth.”

Then he said, “There are many, many things to come.” So that means Matt stays at least 3 weeks to a month longer, and maybe longer. And when Michelle posted the video, she added the caption, “Let the games begin.”

The Young and the Restless: Michelle Stafford Drops a Big Hint

So, if it happens and watch General Hospital, you may know that he played a letter there, Nina Reeves, who was in love with Roger Howarth’s character, Franco Baldwin. He was a master and serial killer who was later reformed. Therefore, there is already a confirmed chemical test on the soap for these two players. And as Matt sticks around and Phyllis gets into her story, it feels like there’s more to it. With Michelle Stafford saying there’s more to come, that sounds like a great plan.

Victor Can’t Let Nick Kill Matt on Y&R

Victor just told Nick that he won’t kill Matt. But again this week, Nick buys a lot of opioid pills from a vendor at the park, which means he’ll be high and out of control. And I mean, we all know Nick is already a violent hothead. Also, he is angry that Adam Newman (Mark Grossman) told Victor that he is using again The Young and the Restless.

That led to a really sweet scene this week where Nick hugs Victor and says he wants to get clean, but until he gets into rehab, all bets are off. I suspect that Phyllis offers Matt to save himself from prison and Nick is high and his self-defense plan goes awry. Victor and Adam and everyone else told him not to. Only Noah Newman (Lucas Adams) supports Nick’s plan. And clearly, Noah is an idiot.

The Young and the Restless: Matt is Always a Free Man

Also, Matt was released from police custody in Genoa City before he left for Vegas because he didn’t do anything they could arrest him for. And after that, Matt did not commit any more crimes in Genoa City. Therefore, Detective Burrow has nothing to arrest Matt because it was done in their district. As for any crime in Las Vegas, there isn’t much physical evidence. Sharon Newman (Sharon’s Case) and Noah go to an old gas station of their own accord, and no one else sees Math there.

So, this is what he said against Matt who will say he is innocent or just doesn’t remember. No one saw him blow up the place. Sienna did, but it’s his abusive ex-wife who attacked him. And in fact, the only thing they might be able to prove is that Sienna hit Matt violently in the head. You know, he might have left DNA on her or they might find a rock with his blood and his DNA where he attacked her. And importantly, nothing in Vegas will help the Newmans get Matt arrested in Genoa City.

Matt Can Press Charges With Newmans

So, if Sharon says she wants the police to handle it, the question is what should they handle? I don’t think they will get Matt. And at this point, he’s an innocent amnesiac with unsubstantiated charges against him from across the country. And when Phyllis gives him to Victor, I think things will go sideways.

If the Newmans do anything to Matt, if they hurt him in any way, like if Nick violently attacks him like he plans to do, Matt can’t really sue. So, there’s room in the storyline for Roger Howarth to stick around even if the Newmans hate it. And yes, Matt will probably be upset with Phyllis for giving him up to Victor, but he’ll get over it, especially if he ends up losing a bunch of money.

The Young and the Restless: Phyllis Needs a Man?

Now, we know that Phyllis usually needs a man in her life, but no sane guy in Genoa City would approach her, but Matt would. And I expect he can get his memories, but he continues to lie. Or maybe they don’t come back. But importantly, Y&R he may be planning to keep Roger Howarth around. He is an amazing player.

If you haven’t seen him before, he’s doing great here and I’ve been watching him for years General Hospital. He is beautiful. So, Matt can stick around and be a constant sore spot for the Newmans and Phyllis would love that. The biggest problem is his history with Sharon because Matt raped her during the day.

However, if he continues to act like he has amnesia or if that amnesia is long term, that is a possible way to deal with this. If you remember, Phyllis asked, “If you don’t remember the crime, can you be redeemed?”

They were talking about Crazy Patty Williams (Stacy Haiduk) at the time, but Matt was clearly thinking about the criminal that Noah accused Matt of not remembering. So, yes, there is a possibility that Phyllis’ new husband could be Math. Even worse, there could be a triangle of Phyllis, Matt, and Patty. Talk about a three-way match from hell. Genoa City will never be the same.
