Prince Reza Pahlavi says the Iranian regime is on its ‘last leg’ and is about to collapse

Iran’s opposition leader, Prince Reza Pahlavi joins ‘Mornings with Maria’ to discuss tightening sanctions, escalating nuclear tensions and the future of post-imperial Iran.
Iran’s ruling regime is facing what opposition leader Prince Reza Pahlavi has described as a very vulnerable time as economic pressure and anti-government protests continue across the country.
Pahlavi, a former prince and leading voice of the democratic opposition, joined FOX Business’ Maria Bartiromo on “Mornings with Maria” to argue that financial sanctions are fueling internal unrest and weakening Tehran’s grip on power.

“Obviously, the regime is on its last leg and about to fall…it will be a big challenge because of the economic sanctions, and it will accelerate its collapse,” he said, describing a government he believes is losing power.
He identified the present as a critical turning point.

“This is a time when conditions are very favorable for this to happen,” Pahlavi said, adding that he doubted Tehran would change course willingly.
“I doubt that this regime will ever come forward. It has always been dishonest and dishonest,” he said.

Pahlavi’s strategy relies on what he calls “high popular support coupled with high pressure on the government,” a combination he says will create “massive defection from state institutions to the people” and a smooth post-collapse transition. He pointed out that the pressure inside the country has reached a critical point.
“Iranians are united today more than ever in understanding how important it is that this regime no longer exists,” Pahlavi said.
Aside from the immediate political crisis, Pahlavi is pitching what he calls the “Iranian Development Project,” a post-imperial roadmap aimed at rebuilding the economy and reopening Iran to Western investment.

“The best thing is to trust the Iranian people and not trust the regime too much,” he said, arguing that the outcome of this period will determine whether Iran remains in line with the regime’s power or faces the country’s democratic future.
Pahlavi says now is not the time to give Tehran another chance to survive.
“Just push the government over the cliff, because it’s on its way down, don’t throw it the other way,” he said.
