Patrick Mahomes’ mother honors Brittany Mahomes, her late mother on Mother’s Day

The mother of Kansas City Chiefs star Patrick Mahomes is enjoying her day this year, but she made sure to show some love to the other moms in her life with a heartfelt Instagram post on Sunday.
Randi Mahomes took to social media to show how “grateful” she is for her daughter-in-law, Brittany Mahomes, and her late mother, Debbie Martin, as well.
“Happy Mother’s Day to these amazing two!” Randi wrote on her photo.

The first photo of Randi was one with his mother, who was sporting her grandson’s number 15 Chiefs jersey. He died in 2023.
“I miss my mother more today. Her love shaped the way I loved my family, and I always thank her for everything she poured into me.”

As the carousel of photos continued, Randi showed love to Brittany, Patrick’s wife and mother of their three children.
“Brittany, you are an incredible mother,” Randi continued. “The love, patience, and joy you pour into your children every day is so special to watch, and I’m so proud of you. Being a mother and now Grandi is the greatest blessing of all.
“Give your mom a little hug today.”

Randi, Brittany and the rest of the Mahomes family, including my father, Patrick Mahomes Sr. and his brother Jackson Mahomes, are regulars at Chiefs games during the season to watch the two-time NFL MVP go to work on game day.
But Randi said that there was a time when his son thought that he should not play football anymore. It was up to my mother to clear the doubts.

“There were times when he got a little bit, even a moment in high school when he wanted to quit football. Yeah, he did,” said Randi Mahomes during an Instagram Q&A in April 2025. “And I encouraged him that sitting out of the sports season and watching games, wouldn’t be fun for him. And so, he stuck with it, luckily.”
Patrick was a baseball player like his father, who enjoyed an 11-year career in Major League Baseball. But he was also a two-year quarterback while playing at Whitehorse High School in East Texas, where he met his future wife, Brittany.

While Patrick continued his football career at Texas Tech, he ended up being a first-round draft pick of the Chiefs in 2017, with his family supporting him along the way.
