My 600-Lb. Lifetime’s Dolly Martinez Dies at 30 After ‘Fight’

My 600-Lb. Life‘s Dolly Martinez he is dead. He was 30 years old.

“It is with a heavy heart that I share the passing of my beautiful sister, Dolly,” Lindsey CooperMartinez’s sister, wrote on Facebook on Saturday, April 11, confirming the sudden death of her sibling.

“Dolly had the brightest personality who could light up any room with her laugh, her kindness and her loving spirit,” he added. “He had a way of making everyone feel special, and his warmth will stay with us forever.”

The statement continued, “While our hearts ache here, I find comfort in knowing that you are now reunited with our father in heaven. I can only imagine the joy of this reunion. Rest in peace Dolly. You will always be loved, always remembered, and never forgotten.”

No cause of death has been publicly shared at press time. Cooper shared with him The Parade that Martinez died on Saturday.

Days before his post, he asked fans to pray for him during Martinez’s recent hospitalization.

“Today is national sibling day and it was really hard,” he wrote on Facebook. “I have never written or approved many [people] You know, but my sister Dolly is in the hospital fighting for her life. Right now I am asking for prayers and privacy as we are a family facing this difficult time.”

Martinez appeared on season 10 of the TLC reality show, which premiered in 2021. At the start of his episode, Martinez weighed less than 600 pounds and was on extra oxygen. He was also seen meeting bariatric surgeon Dr. Now.

“The only thing strong enough to distract me from dark thoughts is food. Food is my go-to drug for my pain,” Martinez shared on the series. “Food is more than just entertainment. It’s my reason for being.”

He continued, “I can’t wait to get a bite of something. That will make me forget about all the misery in my life. … Food has created all the things I hate about my life, but it’s the only thing I’ve ever had to help me feel happy and I don’t even know where to start to change that. Ever since I can remember, food has just been a difficult thing, I guess. It just makes me happy.

When Martinez moved to Houston to be closer to Dr. Now, he ended up losing 40 pounds on the show. Martinez was not approved for the weight loss procedure.
