Maren Morris she’s coming out about her bisexual journey nearly two years after coming out.
Posting on her TikTok account on Wednesday, April 15, the 36-year-old country singer described a “sweet” experience she endured during a short-lived same-sex relationship.
“I was seeing a woman briefly and I didn’t want anything serious,” Morris recalled in the clip. “I feel like I’m at a point in my life right now where I don’t have much to offer.” I knew that because I was just talking, and he was like, ‘Oh, absolutely.
Morris went on to explain that he quickly realized that the other woman seemed to be looking for something a little more serious than the singer was willing to give – and the relationship quickly went downhill.
“I kid you not, within three weeks this was a total meltdown, it was lies, threats to my reputation and borderline fraud,” Morris said.
He added, “It was very exciting. And for that to be my first experience, it was very stressful.”
Morris has previously spoken about navigating dating after coming out as bisexual in 2024 following her divorce from her singer partner. Ryan Hurd.

“I get confused sometimes because I can connect with a woman, any woman within two minutes,” Morris said on Betches’ “U Up?” podcast in May 2025. “We’re going to be talking about our kids. We’re going to be talking about the bully at 13. We’re going to get into it very quickly. Boy, that can take years to get through that trauma.”
The Grammy winner also shared that sometimes there are moments of confusion for him when it comes to trying to date women.

“Sometimes I just like a woman and we’re friends. Then she gives me a vibe, like, she’s going to kiss me, and I feel like we’re just friends, but I’m really connecting with you on this deep emotional level,” Morris said. “That’s when I sometimes have a strong definition of love and friendship because women know how to communicate quickly and easily, which is magical for us, but that compares, I think, to dating men.”
Morris finalized her divorce from country singer Hurd in January 2024, three months after filing. The couple have been married for five years after meeting in 2013 while writing Tim McGraw’s song, “Last Turn Home.” Morris and Hurd confirmed they were dating in 2015 and married in Nashville in 2018.
Morris came out as bisexual in June 2024 in a pride post on Instagram, writing at the time, “Happy to be B in LGBTQ+ happy pride 🌈.”
