Maren Morris and her ex-husband, Ryan Hurd, they can share communion peacefully two years after their divorce.
“Sometimes you have to get a beer with your ex and pretend it’s 2015,” Morris, 36, wrote on her Instagram Stories on Saturday, May 16. “Except right now she’s giving birth.”
Morris uploaded a photo across the table where Hurd, 39, can be seen scrolling through her smartphone.
Morris and Hurd they were married since 2018 to 2023. The two country singers finalized their divorce the following year, agreeing to share custody of 6-year-old son Hayes.
Since then, Morris and Hurd have put any animosity or bad blood behind them.
“It’s been a year now… [and] we get along now and we’ve been through a lot of it,” said the “Amthambo” singer. on the “Dear Chelsea” podcast June 2025 of their flexible merger. “We are neighbors, and I’m very lucky that we put our son above s***, and it’s better for both of us if we get along.”
He continued, “I’m lucky that we still love each other very much.” [who] fall in love so much it won’t make it work in the real world. It will always be mixed. I think in the end, we both knew it would be better this way, which is successful. “
Morris reiterated that he and Hurd are “great parents.”
“We agreed on that way of love, even though we still have so much love and history,” said Morris. “The person you marry is not the person you divorce, and … the hardest thing to know is that it’s not the same.”

For Morris, following the judge’s order of prison programs helped him cope with the new situation at the time.
“That’s very strange, but it’s also comforting to know that,” she said, detailing the Tennessee custody court process. “The state has given us this division and we have to comply with it, so there is no, ‘do you get Easter or I get it?’ It’s written down, and that gets us out and about our feelings, which is very helpful for both of us. I won’t say [it is] it’s easy, and we’re doing very well now, but you have to allow yourself that time to feel all the emotions.”
Morris came out as bisexual following their divorce.
