A person who lives at home when he is no longer alive Anne Heche crashed days before his death in 2022 he is reportedly denying allegations that he reached a multi-million dollar settlement with the late actor’s son.
According to court documents obtained by TMZ and featured in the report for Friday, June 19, Lynne Mishele – who rents a Los Angeles home and was living in the apartment on August 5, 2022, when Heche crashed his Mini Cooper into the house, causing a fire – says he has not reached a “fixed settlement” with Heche’s son and executor, Homer Laffoonfor damage and emotional distress.
In November 2025, Us Weekly exclusively reported that Laffoon has filed court papers asking for six months to legally dispose of everything related to his mother’s crash.
“Unusual circumstances of [Heche’s] Passing (a car hits a home) and the result of the required charge [Lafoon] spending a lot of time in analyzing the requests and negotiating a solution that could motivate the administration,” Laffoon’s lawyer wrote in the report.
The lawyer added that Laffoon “has obtained a settlement agreement that will require the approval of the Court, once finalized.” [Lafoon] he has high hopes that the creditors’ claims can be resolved without litigation.”

Getty ImagesIn her new filing, Mishele reportedly admits that although a deal has been negotiated with Lafoon’s team, she says she “needs to see a full accounting of Anne’s estate before agreeing to any deal,” according to her. TMZ.
According to Mishele, he had not yet received the accounting information from Heche’s estate [Heche] he died about four years ago.”
Laffoon was left in charge of his mother’s estate and finances after she died on August 11, 2022, due to smoke inhalation and heatstroke from a car days earlier. He was 53 years old. (The actor was kept on life support until August 14, 2022, when he was matched with various organ recipients for organ donation.)
The final autopsy and toxicology report produced by the Los Angeles County Medical Examiner-Coroner revealed that the actor had cocaine but no alcohol in his system at the time of the fatal crash.
In a 2025 filing, Laffoon revealed that her mother’s estate received three claims against her for her mother’s accident—two by the homeowner and one by the tenant. Each lawsuit filed in the incident seeks $2 million in damages and suffering. Another creditor claim was filed by Heche’s former co-star, actor Thomas Jane, who said he owed her $157,000 on a 2022 bill.

In response, Laffoon said he submitted “the appropriate paperwork to SAG-AFTRA to capture the royalty payments made to SAG-AFTRA. [Heche] or his business associations for his past activities in the entertainment industry.”
Heche’s son went on to say that his estate had “no money,” made up only of the small remaining assets of about $200,000.
Laffoon and his half-brother, Atlas Tupperthey are the only two beneficiaries of the inheritance. Tupper’s father, James Tupperhe initially opposed Laffoon taking over as the executor of Heche’s estate. Former Heche said the actor sent him an email appointing him as manager. Laffoon disputed that the email was valid. The judge eventually sided with Laffoon and gave him control of Heche’s estate.
