Kaley Cuoco and her boyfriend Tom Pelphrey are mourning the loss of their dog Ruby

Kaley Cuoco and her boyfriend, Tom Pelfreythey are honoring their late dog Ruby.
“💫 Ruby 💫 . I knew this day would eventually come but it doesn’t make it any easier. My sweet Ruby has crossed the bridge 🌈 😭,” Cuoco, 40, wrote on Instagram on Sunday, April 19. she!!”
He continued, “I was doing a TV segment at the East Valley shelter a long time ago. He was the dog they took from me. I went home that night and I couldn’t get him out of my mind, so I went back the next day and made the best decision I ever made. The more pets we have, the more we experience this common pain, but that’s the best privilege to give a dog that life. 💜💖.”
Alongside the message, Cuoco shared a series of photos of herself and Ruby over the years – including one of Pelphrey, 43, holding the pup. The couple’s three-year-old daughter, Matilda, leaned in to pet Ruby in a separate photo.
Pelphrey, on the other hand, mourned Ruby in a different place. “Yesterday we had to say goodbye to Ruby,” he wrote on Instagram on Sunday. “Kaley rescued Ruby many years ago – she lived an amazing life and passed peacefully as a very old lady. Ruby known as ‘Snowball’ or ‘Ruby from the Block’ had an attitude as angelic as her looks – yet she didn’t suffer fools happily and punched above her weight class. We will miss her. 🙏🤍🙏.”
Cuoco, who has always loved animals her whole life, has given fans a glimpse of life with her pooches over the years. In 2024, Cuoco explained that she had made the decision to get her dog Shirley back.
“Most of you know that I had one [Shirley] many, many, many years,” Cuoco said in an Instagram video at the time.
Cuoco got emotional in the interview discussing how Shirley’s “huge battles” with Pelphrey’s German Shepherd, Blue, led to her decision.
“I loved him so much, but I was really scared. They loved him so much, and it was a difficult decision.”
Cuoco explained that Shirley died after battling “a very bad bone cancer” that “came on very quickly.”
“He was almost 14 years old, which is an unbelievable life for a dog,” Cuoco said through tears. “And I just wanted to share his story and what we should do.”
