Jesse Ridgway Received Death Threats After Wife’s Abortion

The facilitator Jesse Ridgway he spoke out after allegedly receiving “death threats” about his wife Ashley Ridgwaythe decision to terminate her pregnancy.
“I have never seen such hatred and vitriol from two people who mourned the loss of their unborn child and made an impossible decision,” Jesse, 33, wrote on his Instagram Stories on Thursday, June 4. “The last 24 hours have revealed a very troubling side of humanity.
Ashley, 31, announced in March that she was pregnant with the couple’s first child, one month before revealing that the fetus was diagnosed with Down syndrome. Jesse revealed on Wednesday, June 3, that his wife recently “made the very difficult decision to have an abortion” due to future health problems.
“Seeing my 6-year-old dog with stage IV kidney disease being used as a weapon, changing my words and my intent in a tweet or saying that I will forever regret this decision and have to turn to God is complete madness,” Jesse said Thursday, explaining the comments he received online about the backlash. “If you’ve ever wanted to marvel at the depravity of people on the internet, just check out the responses to my latest tweet, It’s like a *** show of amazing proportions.”
He continued, “The most disturbing thing is that most of these people use God or Jesus as their excuse to threaten us and want to throw us into hell … it seems quite hypocritical.
Jesse also noted that many critics who “throw stones” don’t have children or “will probably never do the things they say they will do.”
“There have been some nasty*** comments about my wife and I on the biggest accounts. “If you can’t contribute to the conversation without profanity, just don’t post.”
Jesse stressed that he and Ashley made their own decision, which may differ from other people in similar situations.
“There have been great stories of people who have kept their Down syndrome child and it’s great! “This was ours and we can do that. It’s much easier to accept the differences between us when they don’t have a real impact on your life.”
According to Jesse, he hopes Ashley’s story inspires other social media users to “open up more” so that “we can all get some insight.”
“We thank everyone who has supported me in this difficult time and protected our choices as parents,” he concluded. “Also, my wife is wicked. Not only has she faced this trauma, but she is dealing with all the strange things on the internet with ease. I love you, babe. Let’s look to the future!”
