James Van Der Beek’s Wife Remembers Navigating Pregnancy Loss

James Van Der Beekwidow, Kimberly Van Der Beekshe is still grateful that the late actress was by her side when she suffered many losses while pregnant.
“I am blessed to have married this man and conceived and had children with him 🥺,” Kimberly, 44, wrote on her Instagram Stories on Tuesday, June 9, along with a link to James’ March 2023. appearance on his “Bathroom Secret” podcast.
James and Kimberly are welcome six childrenin addition to navigating multiple miscarriages over the years. (James and Kimberly had daughters Olivia, Annabel, Emilia and Gwendolyn, and sons Joshua and Jeremiah.)
“It was very painful, and it was unexpected because everything was fine, everything was fine [a] a tale,” the Dawson’s Creek said the alum during the 2023 podcast episode. “Everything was coming together. It developed very quickly into concern for Kim. We were both just crying and crying and there was a lot of blood. A lot more blood than any birth.”
At that time, James realized something was wrong when his wife said she was “sad.”
“Kim laid down in the shower and didn’t wake up, so that’s when I called 911,” James recalled crying. “You have left, the ambulance has taken you [our daughter] Gwen goes back to bed, and I’m sitting right there in the bathroom covered in blood, with a dead toddler on the counter. It was just a gut-wrenching, painful heartbeat.”
James was competitive Dancing with the Stars season 28 at that time and announced the touching news during the semi-final.
“My wife, Kimberly, and I experienced a parent’s worst nightmare. “The little soul we expected to welcome into our family took a shortcut to anything beyond. You never know why these things happen, that’s what I’ve been telling my kids. What you know is that it brings you closer together, it makes you relax, it opens your heart, it deepens your appreciation. It makes you human.”
Kimberly she lost another pregnancy next year.
“They were strong. It’s good that I was able to give birth to four children at home without any problem, but [two] a miscarriage at 17 weeks put me in the hospital. One of them almost killed me,” he said during the 2020 live broadcast. “I was told I would miscarry a few minutes before it happened. I was told I would have to go to the hospital a few minutes before they made a decision. After the fetus came out, I was told where to bury it. …
Kimberly gave birth rainbow child of loversson Jeremiah, November 2021. About five years later, James died in February after battling colorectal cancer. He was 48 years old.
