John Oliver Lands General Hospital, Days of Our Lives Roles

John OliverDreams of becoming a soap opera star are coming true!
The British comedian, 49, announced the Sunday, June 28, episode of HBO’s Last week Tonight that you have booked gigs at both General Hospital again Days of Our Lives.
In March, Oliver applied for a cameo on the ABC daytime soap General Hospital after finding out that ESPN Stephen A. Smith has played the recurring role of Brick for the past decade.
“When John Oliver publicly threw down the gauntlet and said he wanted to appear on a soap, we didn’t hesitate one bit. He was everything you’d hope he would be: prepared, professional, funny and genuinely kind to everyone on set,” General Hospital a large producer Frank Valentini said the statement to Variety. “He plays an important character in the story, and I can’t wait for fans to see who crosses paths in Port Charles.”

Oliver said on his Sunday show that he was “burningly jealous” of Smith’s role. General Hospital.
“To be clear: Acting on a soap opera is not my Plan B,” the comedian said. “I just offered my imaginative acting skills to any soap that met my criteria, which were: I wanted to play a character with a funny name, I wanted a good story line like a kill or a slap and I wanted an amazing close-up of my face.”
It appears both General Hospital again Days of Our Livess, NBC/Peacock’s survival soap, answered Oliver’s call.

Oliver will appear in three episodes of General Hospitall aired on July 2, 3 and 6. His own Days of Our Lives episodes air on August 11, 12 and 14.
General Hospital first aired in 1963 and follows the lives of the citizens of the fictional town of Port Charles, New York.
Days of Our Liveson the other hand, it is set in the fictional town of Salem, Illinois, and was shown on NBC in 1965. In 2022, it moved to the Peacock streaming service.
