TOP STORY: Duke University has a money freeze as well founded the Students for Justice in Palestine chapter following an outcry over a “deeply disturbing” Instagram post. The pamphlet depicted Zionism and US Imperialism as pigs—a degrading caricature associated with extremist propaganda of the 1970s. While the group was sidelined, critics demanded more accountability for some students who cause “unclear” abuse.

TWO YEARS IN HELL: Rom Braslavski, released after 738 days in captivity in GazaThe horrific abuses are detailed, including starvation, physical abuse, and sexual abuse. Initially hiding his military status, his treatment worsened after his identity was discovered. He lived on meager food, endured solitary confinement, and suffered severe trauma before being released in October 2025. Today, he relies on faith to heal.
BRIEF BRIEF: Progressive candidate for Maine Senate Graham Platner is on fire in an archived Reddit post praising the deadly 2014 Hamas attack as “well done.” The combat veteran, supported by Bernie Sanders, also faced scrutiny for a Nazi-style tattoo. While Platner attributed the behavior to a “violent” military culture, Republicans and veterans criticized his comments as unfit for office.
BASIS OF SENTENCE: 1979 Islamic Revolution changed Iran from a stable Jewish home to a state-sponsored theater. Using anti-Semitic weapons as a central idea, the regime killed community leaders, confiscated property, and forced many people to leave. Today, the dwindling population remains a “sad fig leaf,” forced to denounce Israel in order to survive under a fanatical, oppressive regime.
