Sen. Elizabeth Warren, D-Mass., lashed out at President Donald Trump during a recent local television interview, calling him a “man child” and throwing a “tantrum” over his refusal to sign a bipartisan housing package.

Appearing on WCVB’s “On the Record,” the left-wing senator didn’t hold back his frustration with the stalled legislation, delivering a scathing message to the president: “Sign the big bill.”

“If he cared about the American people, he would have signed something terrible,” Warren said during the interview, saying Trump “doesn’t care about the economic survival of working American families.”

The 21st Century ROAD to Housing Act is an expansive bipartisan package that he said contains nearly 50 provisions designed to address the nation’s housing emergency.

Warren noted that decades of construction under construction have driven up prices, leaving the US in need of millions of new units.

The main focus of the bill is to lower construction costs and make it easier to build new homes.

The bill, sponsored by Sen. Tim Scott, RS.C., includes a second focus aimed at preventing corporate consolidation of the housing market.

Warren explained that the law is designed to keep private firms from buying up neighborhoods and turn America into “a nation of renters.”

According to Warren, the law had broad support on both sides of the aisle before it was suspended.

He said the bill was “handed to the president on a silver platter” and that lawmakers from both parties were excited about the legislation.

“Republicans were all going online, saying, ‘Okay, I helped write that bill. This bill is terrible,'” Warren said. “So everybody’s there saying, ‘My credit, I helped make this happen,’ until the man-child gets loud and announces that he’s not going to sign it.”

Critics of the law say it doesn’t allocate new federal funding, directly address the rising cost of homeownership, or go far enough to fix enabling problems.

The president earlier canceled a planned signing ceremony, insisting that lawmakers must first approve the unrelated SAVE America Act, a ballot measure, before moving forward.

The White House did not immediately respond to Fox News Digital’s request for comment.
