Days of Our Lives: Holly Arrested for Sophia’s Murder – Karma Strikes!

Days of Our Lives suggests that Holly Jonas (Ashley Puzemis) may be arrested for what appears to be her abuse of Sophia Choi (Madelyn Kientz) in an apparent suicide. Now, of course, we know that Sophia deliberately laid all the groundwork for Holly to be blamed, but in a way, I think this is a karmic slap that Holly has come down with.

And even though Sophia is obviously the villain in all of this and she didn’t kill herself and Holly didn’t drive her to her death, I think Sophia is also playing the role of karma in Holly’s storyline.

Holly Is Not Perfect As She Acts

And let’s be clear, yes, yes, yes, Sophia stopped her, but at the same time, Holly is not as perfect as she pretends to be. And since Amy Choi is mad at Holly, I think she’s going to push to press charges, which is understandable. As a mother, you would. But let’s talk about why Holly really deserves this.

Yes, Tate Black (Leo Howard) and Arianna Horton (Vico Escorcia) and Holly are all shocked when they find out that Sophia Choi is said to have killed herself. And that’s new to Holly and Ari both being mad at Sophia in person and online. And yes, she’s been infatuated ever since Tate dated her and broke her heart in high school. But I think the unplanned pregnancy and her mother Amy being a control freak is what really pushed Sophia in the end. Because before that, he was a good kid. You know, he had a little streak, but not a bad kid.

And I don’t think Amy will ever see the part she created in this mess. So, for Sophia it was as if everyone had abandoned her, but she really did drive them away. You know, Sophia lied about Trey’s birth, the fake Chicago adoption. She didn’t tell Tate that she slept with Aaron Green. And no one will forget or excuse Sophia drugging Holly and switching supplements.

But still, that doesn’t lessen Amy’s accusations that Holly drove Sophia to kill herself. And of course, Kristen DiMera (Stacy Haiduk) was the one who ended Sophia’s life, but not the one who drove her to the point where she was willing to blow up Johnny DiMera (Carson Boatman) and stop her former friend from going down to kill himself.

So, I have to give credit to Sophia. He tricked the girls at Salem University to get those scary words and Holly fell for it and so did Ariana and they joined. And then Sophia said in her suicide note that her ex-boyfriend who bullied her in person and online was part of why she ended her life. And as bad as all this is, do you remember Holly’s icky past? His arrest for a crime he did not commit, I think it would be karma. And I’ll tell you exactly why.

Remember When Holly Lets Tate Stay In Jail?

Remember when Tate Black first came to Salem? It wasn’t long before Holly returned. And if you remember, Tate and Holly’s best meeting was in the park and he had weed on him. He gave Tate something else and the relationship basically started when they woke up that doobie together.

But weed wasn’t all Holly was into. Far from it. Tate really didn’t like drugs. Weed was a one-off. Then they went out that New Year’s Eve and Holly decided to party hard and took out a bag of drugs she got from a kid at school.

He tried to get Tate to take the pills too, saying that everyone does. But he refused because both his parents, Brady Black (Eric Martsolf) and Theresa, are recovering addicts. So he wanted to participate in Holly’s drug dealing activities.

Days of Our Lives: Tate Tries to Stop Holly

And Tate even tried to stop Holly from taking the pills, but she snuck in and did it anyway. If you remember this, Tate later found Holly in a cave behind the Bistro and she was having an epileptic seizure and was on drugs. Tate tried to help him. She hid the drugs from him and called 911, but the police found the pills on her, Tate instead, and the overdose left Holly unconscious.

And then his mother Nicole and stepfather EJ DiMera (Dan Feuerriegel) who was the DA at the time were pushing the charges against Tate and were saying all these bad things about him as the child of drug addicts. So he was arrested and Tate was jailed Days of Our Lives.

And after two months, Holly finally woke up from her coma. He had some gaps in his memory at first about the night they did OD and he defended Tate but he didn’t admit it. Then Holly remembered everything. You know, it wasn’t long after he woke up that he knew that it was his pills that he ate as he pleased. But he still lied and said that there was someone who cheated on him.

And this landed Tate in jail facing criminal charges because Nicole thought Tate cheated on her. And Holly just kept lying. Tate is incarcerated in a halfway house at a treatment center. And he was frustrated and angry because he wasn’t a drug addict. And her hope was that if Holly woke up, she would tell the truth. But she was too afraid to tell Nicole that the drugs were hers and that Tate hadn’t taken them. He had no part in this. So Holly left Tate hanging in legal trouble and suspecting a crime so she wouldn’t be stopped by her mother.

Now Holly finally told the truth. And for the opposite reason, I think because he’s hot, Tate forgave him. And it was Holly’s drugs and lies that had Brady, Theresa, Nicole, and EJ all stopping Holly and Tate from dating. Since then, that’s what led Holly and Tate to sneak in and use Sophia and Aaron as fake dates. You know, Holly knew that Sophia loved Tate, but Holly continued to lie to her best friend and let Sophia think that she had a chance with Tate.

So, this whole thing that happened had its genesis all in Holly being a drug, right? And Sophia thought that Tate really wanted her as his prom date. But that’s when Sophia found out that Tate and Holly were using her and Aaron.

So Sophia talked to Nicole who shot Holly and Tate at the Salem Inn and it was messy and it led to all kinds of things that led to the pregnancy, which led to the breakup, which led to everything we’re seeing now. So yeah, I think Holly made Sophia really screw up Tate’s fake dating thing. And in the end, I think all of this is totally why Holly deserves a slap from karma.

You know, he let Tate stay in jail when he did nothing wrong. And to be very clear, Holly knew that Tate was in danger there. She was beaten because Holly was using dirty little drugs and wanted to be her mother’s good girl. So, if Amy Choi moves on and Holly gets arrested for Sophia’s suicide, I guess that’s karma to some extent.

I think it’s fair that Holly spends some time in jail like Tate did for a crime she didn’t commit. Again, we see that Holly created all of this. If you take this whole issue back to its beginning, it comes down to Holly and her pills and her lies. So, I don’t think he should end up in Statesville prison for this. And I hope the truth comes out. But at least for a while, I think Holly deserves a taste of what Tate is putting her through. Let me know what you think in the comments.
