Bubba Wallace has a heated collision, NASCAR fans rip a female driver and Sam Busch walks off with a cow!

Another road race lost to the NASCAR Cup Series. Just a waste of time and a big breath. You finally get a little boost in the middle of what has been, frankly, a boring season, and you get all pissed off by going to the road course.

Nothing against road lessons, of course. They went well. See used to be sweet. Now, it’s the last snooze.

Shane Van Gisbergen won, again, on Sunday at Watkins Glen. Let me rephrase that … SVG was 29 seconds back after a late pit stop, and still won the race … by seven seconds. He ruled like that.

No one else had a chance. SVG is the purest runner the Cup Series has ever seen. There, I said it. He, THEN Boris Said.

But now, SVG will be back in the middle of the pack until the end of June when the guys head to San Diego and then Sonoma. Nice to see you, SVG! Have a nice holiday.

What else do you want to hit today? Again, it wasn’t the most exciting car race, but we’ll put something together.

With Bubba Wallace and Christopher Bell we had a nice chat after the race. How does that sound? I also got Cody Ware in Insanity, Amazon Prime is on deck, and Natalie Decker had a GRATE run down the truck series over the weekend.

And by that, I mean he was shockingly slow, he was taken out of the race for 20 laps. It’s surprising. Impressive, indeed.

Four tires, just a waste of gas because I need to be able to buy dinner later, and maybe a towel for the entire stadium after SVG has been wiping the floor with it all day … Monday Morning Pit-Stop — the “SVG dominated the rest of the course, so we’ll have to dig deep for content today” plan — LIVE!

Is SVG good or bad for NASCAR?

Look, it’s amazing. I’m not going to sit here and trash SVG because it’s so much better than everyone else on the road. Look at that drive in the field. Yes, he used new tires, but still … I don’t think anyone else could do it. Of course they couldn’t do that quickly.

But is it good for NASCAR? Does Shane Van Gisbergen own all the good road courses in a sport that A) has the most road races on the schedule, and B) struggles with Mr. Nielsen this season?

If this was Jeff Gordon – and just, it was from the ’90s – it would be fine, wouldn’t it? If this was Earnhardt or Gordon or Elliott, it would all be ham and eggs, I think.

But, it is not. A new and unknown driver in the series who comes from the background of a very different race and a very different part of the world, and now burns the entire field several times a year while struggling on ovals and speedways.

He gives incredible times in the weeks of the road race, and then later disappears for the next few months until the next road course.

I personally don’t think it’s good for NASCAR, at all. I don’t want to remove anything from SVG (which is what people say when they want to take something), but I’m firmly in that camp. It makes races boring. I have a feeling that Sunday’s race at Watkins Glen will do some serious numbers. Maybe I’ll be wrong. I doubt it, though.

ZERO BS. JUST DAKICH. TAKE DOD’S DON’T @ ME PODCAST ON THE ROAD. DOWNLOAD NOW!

I’d also like to say that I’m still in the majority this time, which is unusual for my NASCAR opinions. I don’t think people like SVG boat racing all over the field.

Bubba and Christopher talk

I could go on and on. Trust me. And yes, there are many people who are responsible, “You should be grateful for the greatness!” line. I get that, too.

But come on. Until SVG wins a race off a road course, I don’t think it will get along with anyone. Hell, he doesn’t even need to win one. Just smell winning on a regular track. Just “be there at the end,” as DW used to say. Then, we will talk.

Until then? Eh. I don’t think he’s moving the needle for casual fans, no matter how impressive the drive.

OK, let’s move on … to the man who MAKES the needle for NASCAR people: Bubba Wallace!

OutKick and Fox News fan favorite, Bubba Wallace!

Ware’s crash, Natalie’s short date and Sam Busch leaving the country

So, Bubba’s spotter says he was crazy, but no one knows more than that? It seems strange to me. Bubba, by the way, was actually broken later in the race by John Hunter Nemechek.

Maybe he got JHN and Christopher Bell together? Lord knows I have before:

I’m kidding. Relax. No one ever confuses two white NASCAR drivers!

Either way, Bubba finished 29th at Watkins Glen, which I’m sure many of you are still disappointed about. Chin up! Bubba will be back in front soon!

OK, let’s put the pedal down and shift this second Monday of May into high gear. First? For some reason, NASCAR didn’t throw out a late warning for this Cody Ware crash.

I know Cody breaks down A LOT, but … this one seemed to deserve the yellow:

NASCAR either A) missed it, or B) realized it was Cody Ware and refused to stop another Cody Ware race. I’m going to assume it’s the second one, because that’s a lot of fun.

And yes, I know, Fox didn’t show the crash. Spare me the emails. I’m not revealing it, for obvious reasons. For those who really hate production, Sunday’s All-Star race at Dover will be Fox’s final telecast of the year.

We’re moving to Amazon Prime for the next five races before TNT and USA Network take over throughout July and August. It will be fun to hear Dale Jr. again. Sad to lose Mike Joy.

The next one? Let’s give the minor league series some love on the way out! Natalie Decker had a great day at Watkins Glen!

Amazing. Coming in last and having “very slow” next to your name on the official stat sheet must be humiliating. Natalie, just saying, blamed the lack of speed on the electric issue in both practice, qualifying and the race.

It seems like something you’d think they’d get before the green flag drops, but whatever. There’s nothing a little nicotine lipper won’t fix:

Unbelievable. Where do we stand on women packing nicotine pouches? Do we think Natalie is really doing this? Lord knows I use them a dozen times a day, but I also think I’m beyond the target audience.

Anyway, that’s our big question of the week. Where do we stand on drowning women? Weird question I admit, but I’ll have to dig deeper because SVG is still rocking the field this morning. It’s not easy.

Okay, let’s move on to the middle of May with Sam Busch calling his inner Ella Langley for unknown reasons.

See you in Dover!
