On Sunday, May 24, TMZ identified a spokesperson for the Sheriff’s Office Jail in Tennessee, who confirmed that Conner, 35, had been arrested. The report stated that he was charged with child abuse/neglect after allegedly driving drunk with a child in the car.

“Having a child in the car will open up different charges, and very serious ones at that. On top of the DUI charge, we often see charges of child endangerment, or child abuse, because they put the child in serious danger by having them in the car,” Bennett tells us. “On top of all of that, law enforcement is required by law to report situations like this to Child Protective Services, which will prompt an investigation into the home and may lead to the removal of the child from the home.”

Conner allegedly drove on the side of the road again and faced another charge related to it. His bond was set at $16,000 and he was ordered to have no contact with the alleged victim after his release.

“Driving on the wrong side of the road works like a big, big factor, and it allows prosecutors to add charges like reckless driving or reckless endangerment, and that’s strong evidence of a crime that the driver was impaired,” Bennett explained, “If you’re driving on the wrong side of the road, you think the system is more difficult for you. And the problems on top of DUI, it’s worse.”

Conner returned to social media on Wednesday, May 27, to publicly apologize for his recent actions and revealed that he had relapsed after a three-year hiatus.

“I’m back again. After three years of working hard to rebuild my life, I’m back,” Conner said in the video as she brushed her hair down. “I relaxed, I let my guard down, it happened. Being addicted doesn’t matter how long you’ve been sober, what you’ve accomplished, or how many people support you and believe in you.”

He began by apologizing to those who stood by him during his journey.
“You all are very supportive, and I appreciate that more than anything,” she said. “I’ve let you all down, and I’ve let my family down. Admitting that out loud is uncomfortable for me. I feel ashamed, disappointed, guilty and scared. I’m not perfect, and I never said I was.
Conner went on to explain that even though he has struggled and “fallen hard,” he doesn’t plan on letting relapse define his future.

He also admitted that he is now facing the consequences of his actions, adding that his fans will see those challenges unfold in the coming months.
In the hours after his arrest, Edwards – who also shares son Bentley, 16, with Maci Bookout McKinney, and son Jagger, 10, and daughter Stella, 5, with ex MacKenzie Standifer – appeared to react to the incident, writing on Facebook, “I will NOT be answering any questions. Please keep us in your prayers.”

The next day, Ashley’s Reality Roundup reported that Conners called authorities on Edwards, 38, saying she wanted to claim what belonged to her but her ex had an alleged history of “physical abuse.” When the police were dispatched to the area, no one had been arrested. The two were seen together outside the gas station, according to the outlet.

Conners’ hearing is currently scheduled for June 3.
