Why Are You Still Burning?

Sharing thoughts on why you might be angry, even if you do all the things.

Hello friends! How are you? I hope your morning is going well. I have a podcast interview, a dentist appointment, and an intake call this afternoon for a potential new client.

Today, I wanted to talk about a hot topic. This was mostly from DMs, and customers, and even in conversations with friends:

“I feel like I’m doing everything right… why am I still burning?”

And I get it, because I was there too. And honestly I was there recently too, and it’s annoying lol.

You eat clean, you exercise, you take your supplements, you try to stay on top of it all… and your body still feels great. Maybe it’s bloating, low energy, stubborn weight gain, or just that “blah” feeling you can’t explain.

It’s frustrating, especially if you’re putting in a lot of effort.

Here are some of the things that may go on: (Yes, if you ever feel uncomfortable, talk to your doctor)

Why Are You Still Angry Even If You’re “Doing Everything Right”

1. You Don’t Get Fat (Even If You Eat “Healthy”)

This is very common, especially in active and trained women.

You eat clean, whole foods, but not enough of them.

If your body is not getting enough fuel, it sees it as stress. And what happens under stress?

– Cortisol rises

– Blood sugar fluctuates

– Inflammation increases

Your body switches to survival mode, not healing mode.

Signs this could be you:

You feel wired and tired

You are hungry at night

Your workout feels harder than it should

You don’t see results despite being consistent

Sometimes the most healing thing you can do is eat more food.

2. Train Too Much (And Recover Slow)

More is not always better.

When you combine intense workouts (HIIT, long cardio, bootcamps) on top of an already full, stressful life, your body may not be able to keep up.

Exercise is stressful. The beautiful one; but still stressed.

Without proper recovery, it can lead to:

Chronic inflammation

Hormonal imbalance

Fatigue and burnout

Growing desires

This doesn’t mean you need to stop exercising.

It means your body may be asking for:

More strength training

More days off

More low-impact movement (walking, yoga, barre)

Sometimes dialing it back gets you better results.

3. Your Detoxification Mechanisms Are Lazy

Your body is constantly working to detoxify by:

Courage

The intestines

Kidneys

The lymphatic system

Skin

If those methods are not supported, toxins can recirculate instead of being removed.

This can appear like this:

Constipation

Skin problems

Hormonal imbalance

Feeling bloated or “toxic”

This is where foundational support is most important:

Hydration

Fiber

Minerals

Sweating

Tools I love for this:

Good magnesium supplement (supports detox + relaxation)

Daily minerals / electrolytes (great for cellular function). I pick up Zero Lyte from Thrive Market

Sauna sessions (sweating is one of the cheapest detox tools). Use FITNESSISTA15

Red light therapy (supports cellular repair + inflammation). FITNESSISTA gets you a big discount.

I also love the EquiLife detox and do this quarterly.

4. Your Stress Load Is Just… High

This is the one no one wants to hear, but it’s often the biggest episode.

Even if everything looks “healthy” on paper, your body only cares about one thing: safety. Your body needs to feel safe to do the things you need (and want) to do.

Depression is not just an emotion.

It can appear in:

Busy schedules

Lack of sleep

Blood sugar changes

Excessive exercise

Bringing you down

Processed foods and sugar

Natural toxins

When stress is high, your body prioritizes survival; not fat loss, hormone balance, or proper digestion.

That’s why things like this:

Support for the nervous system

Quality sleep

Limits

Simple daily rhythms

it can make a big difference than another supplement.

5. You’ve Lost Your Roots

This is where I see many women spinning their wheels.

They do all the right things, but they are guessing. They also take the billions of supplements they’ve seen on Instagram without vetting.

Without testing, you may not be:

Mineral imbalance

Intestinal dysfunction

Detox dysfunction

Hormonal imbalance

And if you don’t know the root cause, it’s easy to do this:

Too much to add

Follow random protocols

Waste of time and money

That’s why I’m such a big fan of performance testing – it takes the guesswork out of it and gives you a clear plan.

So… What Should You Do Next?

If you’re reading this and thinking, “okay, this is me…” this is a friendly reminder that you’re not alone and you’re not doing anything wrong. Your body just needs the right data and support.

Start here:

Make sure you eat enough (especially protein + carbs)

Check your workout intensity + recovery

Support your detox routines with simple, consistent methods

Prioritize sleep and nervous system regulation

From there, you can find many strategies.

If You Want Sponsorship

If you’re tired of guessing and want a personal plan, I have a few options:

– EquiLife Detox – a great start if you want to support your body’s natural detoxification process in a systematic, feasible way

– 1:1 Coaching (Healing Code) – for in-depth support, assessment, and a fully personalized program
