Sydney Sweeney’s rumored connection to the James Bond business is doing more than fueling fan chatter – it’s cementing her reputation as one of Hollywood’s rising stars.
The link to 007, or as rumored, will “bring a significant level of respect” to the emerging Sweeney franchise after “The Housemaid” director Paul Feig backed the red bombshell for the iconic role.
“I’d rather Sydney be the next Bond,” Feig said, according to The Sun. “There have been some cool Bond girls, but come on, let her be a great spy, she’s great.”
A link to the iconic James Bond business could elevate Sweeney’s status from “girly” to global company, branding experts told Fox News Digital.

“Ms. Sweeney has already ‘arrived’ and has had a consistent level of compliance for at least three years,” explains Ryan McCormick, reputation management expert and managing partner at Goldman McCormick PR. “On the contrary, I think the Bond series will benefit more from Sweeney than any other. His role may attract a core following and a curious public to see that he has the ability to show a diversity in acting that we have not seen before.”

As talk of a possible shake-up in the James Bond franchise hits the internet, one industry expert has drawn a sharp line between his two most famous roles. The crisis and reputation expert said that the role of “Bond Girl” has limited careers historically, while acting as James Bond himself could completely redefine the career.
“There’s a big difference between being Bond and being a ‘Bond Girl,'” Dave Quast, president of EDQ Strategies, told Fox News Digital. “The latter has historically cast other actors, but stepping into the role of Bond would be the highlight and defining feature of his career. If he was cast as Bond, it would raise his profile rather than limit it.”

While the rumored connection puts Sweeney on another level of discussion, Quast told Fox News Digital that the rumors don’t automatically elevate the “Euphoria” star to “a fully recognized global brand.”
“That kind of change doesn’t happen by guesswork – it actually takes a role and bringing, and avoiding, moving forward, the kind of domestic political conflicts that can quickly become liabilities,” he explained.
Still, Quast said the actual increase may be less about speculation itself and more about the signal it sends about Sweeney’s standing in the industry.

“There’s very little that goes wrong with being publicly tied to a franchise as popular as Bond,” he said. “It shows that he’s being considered at a very high level, and given the recent image challenges he’s brought upon himself, being part of that conversation helps reinforce his importance and momentum.”
Long before the Bond rumours, Sweeney was already building a business empire – suggesting that his rise is not dependent on any one role. Sweeney launched his own sub-brand, SYRN, in January 2026.

The launch relies heavily on Sweeney’s personal brand and viral marketing fueled by the actor’s Instagram persona. Before entering the celebrity underwear market, Sweeney partnered with American Eagle for a jeans campaign.
“Sydney’s underwear line and the successful campaign for American Eagle Outfitters (which added an estimated $400 million in market value and helped the stock increase more than 170%),” says McCormick, “are two examples that show you’re more than just a ‘girl.'”

So, what happens next?
“If Miss Sweeney can land the Bond franchise and her particular film achieves commercial success and critical acclaim, it will take her career to the next level,” explained McCormick.
“Ms. Sweeney’s stock is going up because she seems like a safe bet.”
