Tim Cook defends Trump relationship while rejecting political labels at Apple

Stockbrokers.com director of investor research Jessica Inskip discusses investor overthinking, Apple’s ChatGPT moment and CME’s market prediction game ‘Making Money.’
In an act of high net worth, Apple CEO Tim Cook rejected political labels while forcefully linking his company to the Trump administration’s “America First” economic agenda.
Highlighting the massive investment of $600 billion in US jobs, Cook defended his approach to the White House as the pursuit of a pro-growth policy – as he faced fire from the left over his approach to the documentary “Melania”.
“You were at the inauguration last year, just feet from the president. You gave him a nice gift at the White House. You were on the ‘Melania’ show, the First Lady’s documentary. A lot of people [who] you say you’re really close to management, and you get criticized for that,” “Good Morning America” host Michael Strahan told Cook during an interview discussing Apple’s 50th anniversary.
“Well, what I’m doing is dealing with policy, not politics,” Cook replied.

“I’m not a political person on both sides. I’m not political. And therefore I’m a straight person in the middle, and I’m focused on policy,” continued the CEO. “So, I’m very happy that the president and the administration are able to talk about policy.”

Apple has been openly working with President Donald Trump to rebuild its supply chains and shift away from overseas reliance, aiming to secure a made-in-America future that protects against global trade volatility. Cook also discussed the leading technology company’s commitment of $600 billion to the local economy over the next four years.
“If you look at your iPhone today, the front cover and the back cover, all that glass will come out of Kentucky at the end of this year. The engine, the system on the chip, we will do more than 100 million of those in Arizona this year,” said Cook.
The ‘Big Money Show’ panel discusses Counterpoint Research’s prediction that Apple will reclaim its crown as the world’s largest smartphone manufacturer.
“We will make more than 20 billion semiconductors in the US And again, this is not just for iPhones sold in the US market only, for iPhones worldwide,” he added. “We have invested a lot in the US Definitely. We are a very proud American company and we want to do as much here as we can.”
As Apple approaches its 50th birthday on April 1, Cook also took the opportunity to shut down speculation that he is preparing to step down as CEO.
