“You hypocrites!”

Shouts erupted on H Street NW last week as about 500 Iranian Americans who support regime change in Iran marched toward a small group of pro-China socialists gathered two blocks away from the White House, supporting the authoritarian clerics who lead Iran.

“We are here for the freedom of Iran,” explained Jay Gorbani, an Iranian-American, as he held his Labradoodle puppy, Bella, while other members of the fledgling group – National Solidarity Group of Iran – burned by.

“We are against the religious mafia regime of Iran.”

Faced with far-left activists gathered under bright green and yellow signs again this weekend, which read “STOP THE WAR ON IRAN,” But the organizers are not just “peace” activists, research by Fox News Digital revealed dozens of contact pages for protest organizers.

Fox News Digital has identified at least 75 organizations that have protested in support of the regime in Iran since the war began, including 50 far-left, Marxist, Socialist or Communist organizations, 22 of which are pro-Islamic, or religious, political organizations, and the remaining three are close to Socialist-Islamist.

They are conveying pro-regime messages expressed by the Chinese Communist Party in recent days, as China sends troops to Iran, according to national security experts.

Last weekend, they coordinated protests in 63 cities in 29 states and Washington, DC, using the same signs, chants and protest infrastructure, now available in the country. digital toolkit, and they repeated the protests this weekend and in the coming days.

The main lobbyists are funded by the American-born tech giant Neville Roy Singham, based in Shanghai, and lawmakers on the House Ways and Means Committee and the House Oversight Committee have accused the network of promoting the interests of the People’s Republic of China. Singh did not respond to repeated requests for comment.

The network sponsored by Singham includes the People’s Forum Inc., the ANSWER Coalition, the Party for Socialism and Liberation, CodePink Women for Peace and the Palestinian Youth Movement, which helped organize the protests. The Democratic Socialists of America, which helped elect Zohran Mamdani as mayor of New York, also sponsored the protests. The organizations did not respond to requests for comment.

Global Defiance

The confrontation in the nation’s capital reflects a wider struggle unfolding not only in Iran but also in the West.

From Phoenix to Dallas, Indianapolis, In Toronto again Manchester in the UKmembers of the diaspora are increasingly challenging far-left activists whom they accuse of spreading propaganda in favor of the clerical rulers of the Islamic Republic.

This weekend, Gorbani and other Iranian Americans took to the streets again. They argue that their advocacy of secular democracy – and their rejection of Islamism, or the religion of democracy – provides a strong response to the growing extremism of Muslim clerics. In recent days, violent incidents in Austin, Tex., New York and Norfolk, Va., have been marked by shouts of Allahu Akbar, or “God is great.

‘The Unholy Alliance’

These tensions reflect a political dynamic with deep historical roots.

In 1965, Time magazine published the article, titled “Unclean Alliance,” bluntly describes “Communists and radical Moslems” working together to oppose Iranian leader Shah Reza Pahlavi’s efforts to “modernize Iran and Westernize Iran” as a democratic country.

Time quoted Pahlavi as warning of an “unholy alliance between two extremist wings,” communist rebels he calls “the ruthless, destructive Reds,” and fanatical Muslims, many wearing black robes, turbans and headscarves.

“This is a common relationship, we call it, an unholy alliance between blacks and reds, which are communists and reactionary people or factions. We always see it because both are against the progress and happiness of the country,” said Pahlavi many years later.

It is an alliance now called the “red-green alliance,” green representing the color of Islam.

‘Freedom of Iran’ v. the Regime

This past weekend, an Iranian American woman and another group of newborns, DCProtess4Iran, confronted women dressed in black from the Manassas Mosque in northern Virginia, where mosque leaders support the Iranian theocracy. His hair fluttering in the wind, he flashed a “V” for victory and shouted, “Down with the Islamic State!”

Facing the socialists on H Street NW, Reza Rezavi, an engineer from Rockville, Md., and a DCProtests4Iran volunteer, said his party supports Pahlavi’s son, Reza Pahlavi, as the leader of a new reform government that will bring about a “democratic Iran.”

“Freedom for Iran!” shouted another Iranian-American woman, holding her Lhasaapso dog, Cocoa, who was rescued in 2019 in Tehran, where the government has banned the illegal movement of dogs in many cities.

In protests from London to Washington, DC, Iranian diaspora activists say they are facing far-left groups they accuse of stealing democracy since 1979, when they defended the extremist clerics who came to power in 1979, toppling Pahlavi. Singh did not respond to requests for comment.

“It’s a culture war,” said Paul Mauro, an attorney, former counterterrorism inspector for the New York Police Department and current Fox News contributor.

“Marxism is probably the single worst ideology ever invented,” Mauro said, “and our culture is now inured to tolerance for Marxism translated into a very dangerous political force that is working with Islamists to undermine America as we know it.”

‘Would You Like A Sign?’

Like clockwork, members of the Party for Socialism and Liberation, the ANSWER Coalition and other social organizations had arrived at 2:28 pm last weekend at the corner of 16th and H Street NW. One woman sipped cold coffee, while another pulled a red cart filled with megaphones. A third pushed a grocery cart filled with a marching drum and bright yellow signs that read “STOP THE WAR ON IRAN!”

A young woman pulled out a dozen or so signs asking, “Would you like a sign? Sign? Who likes a sign?”

Tourists looked away, as far-left activists, including CodePink founder Medea Benjamin and DC coordinator Olivia DiNucci arrived with a new protest banner. Ignoring the approaching crowd of Iranian Americans, Benjamin took a photo with Korean Americans who support China, Iran and North Korean communism.

Soon, the group broke into the usual anti-American chants that have been heard at protests for years, but this time they were interrupted by chants of Iranian protesters, chanting, “USA! USA!”

Asked about Singham’s funding for protest sponsors, Benjamin said, “I’d rather not talk about it.”

Dancing in the Streets Recklessly

Minutes later, groups of Iranian Americans rounded the corner from L Street NW and stopped about 200 yards from the far left activists on 16th Street NW. They blast Iranian music and dance.

Contrary to the strict interpretation of Islam, families walked with their pets next to Bella and Cocoa, as women screamed with their hair in the wind, and men and women danced freely next to each other to Iranian pop music, acts that are strictly prohibited in Iran. The incident was against strict religious rules imposed by Iran’s clerics, who ban domestic dogs, force women to cover their hair and suppress music, dancing and dissent.

An Iranian-American woman smiled and slowly raised her middle finger at the socialist activists, whose chants of “Down, down with the USA,” were heard blaring music in Farsi.

On the other side of the police line, marshals from the Party for Socialism and Liberation gathered elementary school girls wrapped in black handkerchiefs around the hole, filming them closely as the children stumbled over their words, reading songs on the phone as activists stared at them.

When the girl was shooting, the field marshal who was filming the canned song tried to chase her away.

“Those people are supporting terrorists,” said one Iranian-American who had a revolutionary-era Iranian flag over his shoulder, like a cap, with a lion logo. “We are against them.”

“We don’t support the regime,” said Siamak Aran, organizer of the National Solidarity Group of Iran, as Iranian Americans marched behind him, chanting, “USA! USA!”
