Ricky Schroder Urges Charlie Kirk’s Shooter to Confess

Former child actor Ricky Schroder has a message of Charlie Kirksuspected shooter, Tyler Robinsonduring his trial in court.

“Tyler, son, you can do the right thing now,” Schroder, 56, said Wednesday, July 8. Instagram video. “You can ask for forgiveness after your confession, and I think what is most beneficial for you is to confess what you did and whoever helped you ask for forgiveness in this.”

Robinson, 23, was arrested late last year in connection with the murder of commentator Kirk. (Kirk was shot and killed while they were talking in September 2025. He was 31.)

Robinson, charged with aggravated murder, has pleaded not guilty. Schroder, meanwhile, was even in court for one day of Robinson’s trial earlier this month.

While sending a message to Robinson via social media, Schroder pleaded with the defendant to apologize to “the Lord Jesus” and Kirk’s family for his actions. (Charlie is survived by his parents, his wife, Erika Kirk, and their two children.)

“You can do something good with your life,” said Schroder. “That would be the best thing you can do not to involve your parents and the world in this practice. … You can join us in this terrible act that you have done, and maybe, maybe you will be shown mercy. In that jealousy, there is a blessing for you and a blessing for everyone in this tragedy.”

Schroder also urged Robinson to “consider this request.”

“In the holy name of Jesus Christ, Tyler, I prayed for you and your family last night. [a] a tragedy that happened, that you created, and made it better for everyone?” said the actor. “The only thing I can come up with is to confess your sins, beg for mercy and, for the rest of your life, serve Jehovah. I hope you hear this, Tyler, [and] I hope someone close to you will bring it to you.”

Schroder and his wife, Julie Trammeltraveled to Provo, Utah, to attend Robinson’s hearing on Monday, July 6.

“We just wanted to support the Kirk family and remember Charlie and what he stood for,” Schroder said on social media Monday. videoencouraging people to show respect to his family after their loss. “You can have a difference of opinion without being so mean. … May this Charlie case go well and the truth be revealed and all the lies be exposed, and may his killer be held accountable. Thank you Lord for Charlie and his legacy.”
