Scott Speedman he leaves Grey’s Anatomy’s Seattle RJ Decker‘s South Florida – but where was his game filmed?
Based on Carl Hiaasena novel Double Whammy, RJ Deckercenters on a disgraced newspaper photographer and ex-publisher who “starts over as a private investigator in the colorful if crime-ridden world of South Florida, tackling cases that range from the unusual to the outlandish, with the help of his old reporter, his detective wife and a shady new benefactor – a woman from his past who could be his biggest ticket to jail…
Speedman plays the titular role in the season Jaina Lee Ortiz, Kevin Rankin, Adelaide Clemens again Bevin Bru include all the characters.
While RJ Decker, premiering Tuesday, March 3, in the Sunshine State, filming took place primarily in Wilmington, North Carolina, with additional shoots in South Florida. In the middle Us WeeklyScheduled visits RJ DeckerOrtiz talked about the change of scenery.
“I’m from the Bronx in New York. I don’t know what it’s like to live in a small town where everyone knows and it’s quiet. It’s really nice and peaceful,” Ortiz told us. “Because I’m a city girl, it’s nice to hold my own because it backfires.
Ortiz continued, “The people are really nice here. So I love it and I appreciate the power of peace it brings. It’s been an experience and I love it.”
The actor revealed that RJ Decker stands out because of the role that Florida plays in this game.
“[The state] itself is moral. It’s boisterous, fun, cute and weird. But then you also have these mysterious criminal cases that keep coming up,” Ortiz teased. “They twist and turn. You don’t know how it’s going to play out so it’s very unpredictable. And then you have these characters whose relationship is just weird. They are human beings. I think people will be really happy at the end of the day.”
Rankin, on the other hand, told Us it was “interesting” to find places in North Carolina that double as Florida, he added, “I think they go together really well.” The actor also revealed that his character “embodies the situation” completely on the show.
“He’s from Florida with legs and I always tell people he’s the guy who knows the guy who knows the guy — and he’s the guy who knows,” he laughed. “So he’s got his ear down and he’s a bar owner and he knows what’s going on in town.”
