Bold and Beautiful’s Darin Brooks, Kelly Kruger Split After 10 Years

The Bold and the Beautiful stars Darin Brooks again Kelly Kruger they have separated after almost ten years of marriage.

“We are committed to raising our two children and our remaining friends,” the couple said TV Insider in a joint statement on Monday, March 2.

The newspaper also reported that Brooks, 41, and Kruger, 43, filed for divorce.

Brooks and Kruger met in 2010 while working on the series The Blue Mountain State. Brooks starred in the comedy as Alex, and Kruger starred as Julie. The two started dating that same year.

“We became best friends, and for a good three to six months he was telling me who to date,” Brooks told Soaps.com of her romance with Kruger in 2016. “We spent a lot of time together, and one day I just grabbed her head and kissed her.”

Before joining The Blue Mountain Stateboth Brooks and Kruger had experience working on soap operas. Brooks began his acting career Days of Our Liveswhere he played Max Brady, from 2005 to 2010. He won a Daytime Emmy for his performance in 2009.

Kruger, on the other hand, showed up Young and Restlesss as Mackenzie Browning from 2002 to 2003. (He reprized his role from 2018 to 2019.)

Brooks returned to the soap opera world when he joined the cast of The Bold and the Beautiful in 2013 as Wyatt Spencer. The following year, Kruger joined the cast as broadcaster Eva.

In 2016, Brooks and Kruger tied the knot in Hawaii. After their wedding, the couple opened up about how they lived as newlyweds.

“The first year of marriage is no joke,” Kruger recalled in a 2019 interview with Soap Opera Digest. “It’s so hard…. I was against marriage for so long. Then I married him, and I said, ‘Marriage is wonderful.’ But it’s hard, it’s work.”

Brooks added that it is important for both of them to work on their relationship.

“Yes, you both have to work, it’s not like one person has to work more than the other. Both people have to work,” he said.

Kruger and Brooks welcomed their first child, daughter Everleigh Jolie, in September 2019. Before bringing their daughter home, Kruger was struggling with fertility.

“It’s so funny, every time I think, ‘Okay, maybe now is a good time,’ I would book a job,” Kruger told Soap Opera Digest in 2019. [returning to] Y&R came along, and I said, ‘Oh, we’ve got to start experimenting.’ And it didn’t happen. I thought that if you’re trying to get pregnant, if you’re healthy, you just get pregnant… We went to the doctor to do all our tests, and the doctor was like, ‘You’re perfectly fine. Take a rest. You are healthy. All good.'”

The two expanded their family with daughter Gemma Wynter in January 2022.
