Phil Collins he will stay with his daughter Lily Collins‘ heart – especially on Father’s Day and as he continues to battle health issues.
“Happy Father’s Day, Dad,” Lily, 37, wrote on her Instagram Stories on Sunday, June 21. “Thank you endlessly for your unconditional love, guidance and support. Now as a parent, I have a new understanding and a deeper appreciation for all you’ve done and continue to do.”
I Emily in Paris star and her husband, Charlie McDowellwelcomed daughter Tove Jane via surrogate in January 2025.
“Tove is lucky to call you grandpa P,” Lily said on Sunday, using the moniker of Phil, 75. “I love you to the moon and back.”
In addition to Lily, Phil shares an ex Jill Tavelmanthe retired Genesis rocker joins Joely, 53, and Simon, 49, and Andrea Bertorelliand Nic, 24, and Mathew, 21, with Orianne Cevey.
Phil and Lily, in particular, have a special bond. This singer even recorded the name “Uzoba Sekhlidi Yami” since 2002 Tarzan like his little daughter’s song.
“[Lily] he calls me and says, ‘The radio is full,'” Phil recalled i Entertainment Tonight interview at the time, talking about the song’s initial popularity. “[She adds]’I go to school and the blackboards are full.’ So, he’s really happy about it. When he went to the cinema with his mother, a carriage came [and] he stood up and said, ‘This is my father!'”

“I still say ‘This is my father!’ 25 years later,” the actor he wrote on Instagram June 2025. “Now, I’m playing [Tarzan] for my daughter, who will one day point to the screen and say ‘That’s my grandfather!’ Happy Father’s Day, Dad. I love you too [am] I am proud to be your daughter.”
Later on Sunday, Lily also paid tribute to her husband.
“My favorite idea. Happy Father’s Day @charliemcdowell,” she wrote via Instagramsharing a photo of McDowell, 42, playing with her daughter. “Seeing lil T light up with you and feeling the world around you is the greatest gift of all. Tove and I couldn’t love it more.”
McDowell’s mother, an actress Mary Steenburgenresponded in the comments section, “Happy Father’s Day @charliemcdowell. I couldn’t be prouder of the father you are.”
As for Phil, he has been navigating a series of health challenges since retiring from Genesis in 2022.
“You know, I have a 24-hour nurse to make sure I’m taking my medicine the way I’m supposed to,” Phil. he told BBC Radio 2 in January. “I’ve had challenges with my knee. I’ve had everything that could go right for me, it couldn’t go right for me. … I can walk, even with the help of, you know, crutches or whatever.”
