Cher’s son was arrested Friday after police say he was involved in violence at a New Hampshire private high school.
The singer’s son, Elijah Allman, 49, was arrested and charged with four counts: two counts of simple assault, trespassing and threatening.
Allman was also charged with trespassing, which is considered a felony in the state even though it is illegal, according to the Associated Press. The newspaper reported that Concord police responded to the elite prep school around 7:00 p.m. after receiving reports that Allman was causing a disturbance in the school’s dining hall.
Allman was later released on bail. His connection to the preparatory school is unknown.

In June 2025, news broke that Allman was taken to a San Bernardino County hospital for disorderly conduct after authorities received a disturbance call.
“Deputies from our Morongo Basin Station responded to a residence in Landers in reference to a male behaving erratically,” Bernardino County Sheriff’s Office officials said in a statement obtained by Fox News Digital. “When deputies arrived, Elijah Allman, 48, was being evaluated by paramedics. Deputies found drugs in the home, and Allman was taken to the hospital. The investigation is ongoing.”
Cher was previously named Allman’s temporary conservator in December 2023, as the documents state that her son is “unable to manage his finances due to difficult mental health and substance abuse issues.”
In his bid to become a conservator, he said that while he is entitled to money given to him from a trust set up by his father, the late singer Gregg Allman, due to his “ongoing mental health issues and substance abuse,” any money he receives “will be immediately spent on drugs, leaving Elijah without the means to take care of himself, and putting Elijah’s life at risk.”

Allman responded to his mother’s request a month later in January 2024, noting that he did not feel comfortable with his mother managing his finances.
“I don’t need his help or support that I haven’t asked for yet,” he said in the papers.
Allman said in the documents that he has avoided using illegal substances “that caused incidents that caused my mother to worry.”
He later lost his temporary conservation position over himself in January 2024.
Cher and Gregg Allman married in June 1975 and welcomed Elijah a year later in July 1976. Throughout their relationship, the couple recorded an album called “Two the Hard Way,” which was released in November 1977, but Gregg’s ongoing problems with other factors led to the end of their marriage in 1979.

“When I say drugs are a real problem, I mean it,” Alan Paul wrote in his book, “Brothers and Sisters: The Allman Brothers Band and the Inside Story of the Album That Defined the ’70s.”

“But I also think that this level of access to celebrity and not being able to have a private life was also part of it,” Paul wrote of the famous couple. “That added something else. It was really hard to fix a problem under this gloss that they couldn’t get out of. They were on one of the first covers of People Magazine. That side of celebrity culture was just starting. They were the first. Kim and Kanye in 1974-1975.”
