Ashley Tisdale To Star In Reunion Comedy After ‘Toxic’ Group Drama

Ashley Tisdale French she’s landed a role in a new comedy about parenthood.
Deadline It was reported on Friday, February 27 that the actor, 40, will star in the upcoming CBS comedy, You’re Only Twice Young. Tisdale French will also executive produce the comic, according to the outlet.
The series, which will be Tisdale French’s first starring role in six years, will follow her character Emily and her ex Alex, who marry in high school after Emily becomes pregnant. Now that their child is grown and in college, Emily and Alex (both now 35) start kissing like newly divorced couples.
Tisdale French posted a screenshot of Deadline on her Instagram page on Friday and captioned it, “I told my agent I’m retired from acting and she said… umm no you’re not 🤷🏼♀️”
The new role comes after High School MusicaThe star ruffled feathers in January by blasting her mother’s group as “toxic” and writing a personal essay. The Cut and Substack’s post detailing his decision to leave.
In the piece, he called out the group and revealed that he had quit after feeling left out.
Although she did not name any other mothers involved in the group, many of her fans believe that it is a group of mothers that she shares with other famous mothers, such as others. Megan Trainor, Mandy Moore again Hilary Duff. (Representative Tisdale French denied this at the time.)

(Photo by Bryan Bedder/Getty Images for Bush’s Beans®)“I remember being left out of a small group, and I knew about them because Instagram made sure to feed me all the Instagram photos and stories,” Tisdale French wrote at the time. “Then I started to feel strong outside the group, realizing in every way that they were ostracizing me. … I told myself that it was all in my head, and it was no big deal. But still, I felt a growing distance between me and the other members of the group, who didn’t seem to care that I wasn’t there much.”
Tisdale French described the process of breaking up with another mother by writing to the group that it felt like “too much high school for me, and I don’t want to be a part of it anymore.”
During an appearance on the Wednesday, February 25, episode of the “Call Her Daddy” podcast, Duff said people don’t have to “connect a lot of dots” to figure out which group of moms Tisdale French was referring to.
“I felt so sad. I was really sad. I was beautiful, surprised and sad,” Duff, 38, said of Tisdale French’s claims. “I have many groups of friends. I’m lucky.”
I Lizzie McGuire the alum added, “It’s funny to read something that isn’t true, and it absorbs six women and their whole lives.”
Earlier this month, Kaley Cuocowho is part of a group of unique mothers, swiped at Tisdale French to write the story.
