Krispy Kreme’s $1.6 million data breach deadline is approaching. Who are eligible?
Krispy Kreme’s $1.6 million legal settlement is nearing completion. If you are among the tens of thousands who qualify, you may be eligible for a cash payment. But time is short.
The settlement was given initial court approval on March 5. Now, application forms must be submitted online or postmarked after June 22, 2026. Then, on July 6, 2026, the court will give final approval to the Krispy Kreme data breach settlement after the hearing, and the settlement can begin to be distributed.
Who qualifies and what’s next? Here’s the latest.
Accommodations at Krispy Kreme
The data breach occurred in November 2024. The personal information of 161,676 current and former Krispy Kreme employees, including names, dates of birth, Social Security numbers, and financial data, is believed to have been stolen. Krispy Kreme denied any wrongdoing but agreed to the settlement.
Those affected are eligible for reimbursement of up to $3,500 for documented losses, or a cash payment of $75, without details of the personal impact of the data breach provided. Any of these amounts may change after the final court hearing on June 6, 2026. The two payment options cannot be combined.
Recovery documents may include phone records, emails, and receipts.
Eligible credit card members will also receive credit monitoring services for one year without submitting a claim, including a $1 million deductible for identity theft insurance.
Are you eligible for a compensation payment? Here are those who are eligible:
-
You have received a notification indicating that a data breach may have affected your personal information.
-
You submit an application form before June 22, 2026, to receive a cash payment (credit monitoring is automatic and does not require an application form).
-
You are not eligible if you are a director, officer, or agent of Krispy Kreme or its subsidiaries and affiliates, or part of a government entity.
