Days of Our Lives: EJ & Rolf Charged with Crime for Lexie’s Resurrection?

Days of Our Lives is surprised as EJ DiMera (Dan Feuerriegel), and Dr. Wilhelm Rolf (Richard Wharton) successfully resurrected Lexie Carver, (Renée Jones) and shocked everyone who read the will when he came out of a not-so-hidden passage.

And the question now is, will EJ and Rolf come in Statesville Prison with this terrible medical miracle? So, I want to talk about whether EJ and Rolf could face criminal charges for bringing Lexie back to life after she was presumed dead for 15 years. Paulina Price (Jackée Harry) may seek criminal charges.

Lexie Wandered Out of the Wine Cart on Days of Our Lives

So, it was another day for the DiMeras when Lexie wandered out of the wine room and into the living room as they gathered to anoint Stefano after his will was read. And Lexie’s appearance honestly didn’t really surprise Kristen DiMera (Stacy Haiduk) and Chad DiMera (Connor Floyd).

They know what EJ and Rolf can do and that they both had someone in that person. EJ was surprised to see Lexie on her feet because she thought she was still unconscious and under the care and supervision of Dr. Rolf. But because Leo and Cat were peeking through the tunnel, Rolf had to hide. And that little pass was when Lexie wandered up from her basement.

Lexie’s Family is Happy with DOOL

Now, you can tell that Theo Carver (Cameron Johnson) breathed a sigh of relief when he saw Lexie alive and walking around. His uncle EJ showed Theo his mother a few weeks ago, but EJ warned Theo that it was still touch-and-go and that’s why EJ said we had to keep his recovery a secret. However, Abe Carver (James Reynolds) who was reading the will was shocked to see his bereaved lover Lexie up and alive and seemingly in good health.

However, the effort to get out of the tunnel was too much and he fell into the living room. And it was Tony DiMera (Thaao Phenglis) who immediately called 911 and Lexie was rushed University Hospital to be tested. Abe and Theo have been very close to him non-stop, trading ever since. Although Lexie had been snoozing in the hospital, she was awake enough to tell Abe that she loved him. And he said the same to her while Paulina listened.

If you were watching, you also noticed that Lexie doesn’t know Theo. But to be fair, he was a child when Lexie died. But her confusion subsided after Theo shared a vivid memory from his childhood about a train stamp he put on himself to make him feel braver. You know, the little engine that can. And that helped Lexie to accept that it’s been 15 years since she’s been gone and her baby boy Theo is grown and a man.

Paulina is the Odd Woman on Dates

And of course, this leaves Paulina as the odd woman out in all of this. And you know, EJ loves that. We saw Abe trying to comfort his wife. But Paulina feels like second fiddle to Lexie right now. Paulina is not sure if she is legally his wife because his first wife has returned from the dead.

Also, Abe will soon find out that Paulina has known about Lexie for a long time. And of course, EJ swore Paulina to secrecy, and threatened to tell Abe if she stopped him from getting Lexie back. Theo knows that Paulina has been known all this time. But Abe doesn’t, and you’ll soon see.

Abe was disappointed. But he understood why Theo kept Lexie a secret. However, I doubt Abe will get along with Paulina. And he already knows it will hurt him. That’s why Paulina tells Abe to just go be with Lexie and then kicks him out and turns to Marlena Evans (Diedre Hall) to comfort him instead.

EJ and Gwen are going to make big bucks on Days of Our Lives

Meanwhile, EJ tells Gwen Rizczech (Emily O’brien) that they’re going to bring in the big boys now that Lexie is awake. But Gwen was angry that EJ was giving her less profit than he had originally promised. EJ also said that it will take a while because they have to find the right buyer for Rolf’s miracle cure because it will basically be on the black market. And he was sad. And Gwen wondered if EJ might face legal consequences for using Lexie as his human guinea pig. However, EJ reassured Gwen and said that his legal team is sure they can work through all of that. But I’m not as sure as he is.

What EJ and Rolf did could be considered disrespecting the corpse because Lexie is said to be dead. He was a corpse. Abe literally held her in his arms when Lexie died all those years ago. Also, EJ and Rolf tempt him without his consent. But I doubt Lexie will want to charge for that part of it. And it was actually Stefano who put Lexie in a cryo tube until Rolf’s sketchy science could cure her cancer and bring Lexie back. Now Kayla Brady (Mary Beth Evans) says Lexie’s neurological function seems normal and there are no signs of the tumor that killed her. At least for now.

Paulina May Want Revenge On EJ

But I wonder if Paulina wants revenge on EJ for ruining her marriage and degrading her. I mean, of course EJ was happy because he knew that bringing Lexie back would ruin Paulina’s life. And of course, EJ wanted his beloved sister Lexie back. Time. But smashing Paulina was a happy outcome.

So, she might as well go and try to convince DA Belle Black (Martha Madison) that her ex-boyfriend EJ needs to get off the hook for wreaking havoc on so many lives and whatever crime they can come up with so Belle can indict him. So, yes, EJ could face some sort of criminal act of desecration or illegal handling of human remains, especially if Lexie’s body was actually buried and dug up and placed in a human pit. Days of Our Lives.

Days of Our Lives: EJ & Rolf Break the Law

There is also the fact that Rolf’s serums are not approved by the FDA. You can’t just start running a secret lab like EJ and Rolf did. That in itself is against all kinds of laws. Also, Versix is still considered experimental and was in trials and was not approved for use.

And that’s why EJ bought the hospital because the doctor who created it also worked there Salem University Hospital it had rights to it and had all its possessions. Thus, EJ was legally in possession of the drug. But letting Rolf use it is wrong.

Days of Our Lives: EJ & Rolf in Big Trouble

The FDA still had to approve all of that and they didn’t. So EJ and Rolf could face charges of testing people without a license, especially since most of Lexie’s care took place in a private facility that was never tested or approved. Also, EJ stole power from the city grid to keep going. I’m sure there’s a criminal case there, too. Theft of public services or something.

Even when EJ throws Rolf under the bus, it’s clear that EJ was helping and supporting. And don’t forget, Rolf is already a wanted man by ignoring Owen Kent (Wes Ramsey), Stephanie Johnson (Abigail Klein) and Jeremy Horton (Michael Roark) in that back room of the lab. If you’re a long-time watcher, you know that during Stefano DiMera’s (Joseph Mascolo) reign of terror, he and Dr. Rolf didn’t face any lasting charges for raising the dead.

There were those arrested. But Stefano and Rolf didn’t do any serious hard time with their cases, but I could see Paulina pushing hard to bring EJ and Rolf down with this. But usually EJ. And while Abe may be grateful that EJ and Rolf brought Lexie back to them, I don’t think he’d get involved. And Belle always wants a chance to get back at EJ. So, it’s possible. Wait to see if Rolf and EJ get arrested.
