Will Bridgerton Recast Phoebe Dynevor, Rege-Jean Page After Long Absence?
Bridgerton the exhibition Jess Brownell broke his silence about that Phoebe Dynevor again Regé-Jean page they are vulnerable to re-release.
“We’re not interested in repeating characters,” Brownell said Variety on Thursday, February 26. “I think it might seem like an understatement for everything Regé and Phoebe established in season 1, and all the great work they did for those characters.”
Brownell did not decide to return to their screen.
“We would like to bring them back at some point, but I think, materially, we want to make sure that we bring them back when we have something good for them,” he continued. “Even if they come back to speak at the funeral [in season 4] and you just show that they were there, it just wouldn’t feel right for a lot of reasons.”
He concluded: “So I think, the camera does not capture everything [this season] — it’s television. But we would like to find time to bring everyone back at some point in the future.”
Bridgertonbased on a series of books written by Julia Quinnfollows members of the wealthy Bridgerton family as they search for love in 19th century London. Season 1 focused on Daphne Bridgerton’s (Dynevor) and Simon Basset’s (Page) unlikely connection.
After the show premiered, viewers loved Page, 38, and her character, which made her departure all the more shocking. Netflix announced in April 2021 that Page would not be reprising her role as the Duke of Hastings despite plans for Daphne to appear in future seasons.
That same month, Page noted that Simon was often cast as a cameo role for him, he told Variety“It’s a one-season arc. It’s going to have a beginning, a middle, an end — give it a year. [I thought] ‘That’s interesting,’ because then it feels like a limited series. I go in, put my hand in, and the Bridgerton family continues. “

Page stood by his decision even though fans came out publicly expressing their disappointment in not seeing Simon’s case. Season 2 still features multiple appearances from Daphne, who was accompanied by her and Simon’s son, Auggie.
However, Dynevor, 30, later confirmed his exit from the series, which does not appear to be his decision. “Sadly [I’m] not in season 3. Possibly in the future. But season 3, I’m really excited to watch as a viewer,” he told Screen Rant in January 2023 about not being called back into the film.
Some of the previous ones Bridgerton leads, including Jonathan Bailey again Simon Ashleyand have had very little screen time since the end of their seasons.
Bridgerton is currently streaming on Netflix.
