Why Madison’s Matthew Fox Won’t Return for Season 2

Matthew Fox plays an important role Taylor Sheridan‘s Madison – but he won’t be back for season 2.

“This is something that I’ve embodied in the show, and I’m very happy about that,” Fox, 59, told me. TV Insider on Tuesday, March 10 about his future on the show. “It’s been amazing.”

The cost of Fox Beau Garrett suggested that “you never know” where this show might go, to which he replied, “You don’t, I guess. But it’s been great.”

Before MadisonPremiere, star Kurt Russell he revealed that the show recorded two seasons at the same time to fit his schedule.

“I did the second season of Monarch [Legacy of Monsters]Apple TV show, and unfortunately for me, the timing was when Madison came,” Russell, 74, explained Entertainment Weekly last month. “And I said, ‘There’s no way to do it,’ because I was working on the show.”

Sheridan, 55, and star Michelle Pfeifferboth of whom serve as executive producers on the series, came up with a way to delay filming Russell’s scenes for season 1.

“Michelle Pfeiffer and Taylor were able to get together with the people at Paramount and say, ‘Let’s do two seasons instead of just one,’” recalls Russell. “‘And before we start the second season next year, instead of doing that, we’re going to start with Kurt’s stuff. We really want him to play a guy. And we’re going to get his first season out of the way, and we’re going to set all that up, and then we’re going to go into the second season and do that.’ And so we were able to do that.”

While no official announcement has been made on season 2, Russell’s voice actor Elle Chapman revealed on social media that production wrapped in January. Russell, meanwhile, confirmed that Madison has six episodes planned for each season.

Madisonpremiering Saturday, March 14, on Paramount+, viewers are introduced to the fictional Clyburn family. After leaving New York City, the Clyburns moved to the Madison River Valley in southwestern Montana to recover emotionally following a family tragedy.

Pfeiffer, 67, and Russell lead the cast of the highly anticipated series, which also includes Patrick J. Adams, Chapman, Fox, Garrett, Amiah Miller, Ben Schnetzer again Kevin Zegers. Rebecca Spence, Alaina Pollack again Danielle Vasinova make other characters — with guest appearances from Is Arnett.

“I really like what Madison is. It’s a smart program,” Russell told EW.

Russell also called Sheridan “a really good writer.”

“Taylor is great, and so is Michelle [Pfeiffer]he’s good, and he’s really good in this show. Speaking of awards — I think it’s going to look Michelle’s way.” “They’re all really good, but they’re good [Sheridan’s] writing that is very compelling.”

Russell continued: “I think it’s a very different show to Taylor because it’s a very female-oriented show.

Madison premieres Saturday, March 14, on Paramount+.
