What Is One Piece Yet, And How Will It Make Luffy King Of The Pirates?

Posted by Jonathan Klotz | Published
When Gol D. Roger was killed, he began the largest and longest treasure hunt in history. Over a thousand manga chapters and a thousand anime episodes, Luffy and the Straw Hat Pirates have been searching for the famous One Piece. They are not alone, with hundreds of criminals also chasing them, but after all this time, no one knows what One Piece is.
It’s true, as there has never been a character, organization, or long-lost map that revealed the nature of One Piece. Fans are in the dark next to the pirates roaming the Grand Line, no one is sure what it is, but everyone has an idea.
One Piece Treasure of Gol D. Roger

The pirate king Gol D. Roger, the only pirate still roaming the entire Grand Line, began searching for the One Piece when he was killed. Faced with death, he laughed and announced to the crowd that no one would find his treasure. The series begins a generation later, with the search still ongoing, and all anyone can find is that it is called “One Piece” because all the treasure is in one group.
“My treasure? If you want it, you can find it. Look for it! I left everything in my life in that place.”
Gol D.Roger, presents a treasure hunt One piece

Based on Roger’s history, it is discovered that the treasure can be found within the Grand Line, but that is all that is known about its location. At least, for a very long time, that was all there was until the introduction of poneglyphs.
Phoneglyphs Hold the Secret to Finding One Piece

Phoneglyphs are stone carvings that come in three different types based on the information they contain: historical (revealing the hidden history of the world), educational (explaining where to find historical phonoglyphs), and road (which together reveal the location of a hidden island on the Grand Line). Nico Robin and Kozuki Sukiyaki are the only two living who are said to be able to decipher the poneglyphs.
Considering the poneglyphs were first mentioned during the Arabasta arc, it’s live action One piece will include them in Season 2, and once they do, expect a lot of new fans to have their minds blown by the information.
The historical poneglyphs, which include information about the “Void Century,” a time the World Government doesn’t want anyone to study, may have a direct connection to the nature of the One Piece. Ngwenya is looking for an ancient weapon, the Pluton, a lost warship, while followers think it may be an overthrown empire by the nations that went on to form the World Government.
Ideas About One Piece

There are tons of fan theories out there about what One Piece could be, from the possible to the outlandish. One of the possible theories is that the Grand Line and the Red Line will be destroyed by One Piece, thus creating a world without borders (“one piece”). Most common, however, is that the ancient weapons, Uranus, Pluto, and Poseidon, are a great treasure, and by using them, the World Government can be overthrown.
It’s a bit esoteric that the Devil Fruits are tied to One Piece, and the treasure is probably the origin of the fruits themselves. Some believe that the only true knowledge of what happened during the Void Century, which will seriously damage the World Government will lead to a public uprising and, once again, the world to unite into “one.”
Small possible theories about the nature of the treasure are that it’s something we’ve already seen, from Luffy’s hat to Zoro’s swords, or that it’s just a bottle of sake. Eiichiro Oda, creator of One piecehas debunked the theory that One Piece’s treasures are “friends we found along the way,” which we can all agree was the most unsatisfying reveal ever.
May Be Linked To Joy Boy

After years of adventure, Gol D. Roger and his team discover a lost island, called Laugh Tale, when they find Joy Boy’s treasure there. This treasure reveals, for the first time, the true history of the Empty Century, ancient weapons, and even what D. he stood for in the beginning, and it was completely, “a funny story,” according to the Pirate King. The poneglyphs on the road point to Laugh Tale, making it the most likely place for One Piece… but it’s not.
A popular figure, Joy Boy figures prominently in the history of One piece as a savior (if you’re a Pisces) or the worst enemy imaginable (if you’re a World Government). Promising to return in 800 years, it is widely believed, by fans and in the world by various characters, that Luffy is the reincarnation of Joy Boy. His newly awakened Gear 5 form is very similar to that of Joy Boy.
How Joy Boy’s treasure relates to the One Piece universe is currently unknown, but it’s one of the best leads yet.
No One Knows What One Piece Is But Everyone Wants It

However, except for Whitebeard, everyone wants to find One Piece, and in doing so, the balance of power in the world has been shifting and opposing the rise of the Straw Hat Pirates. Seven Warlords? It has been dismantled. Wano’s limits? It is open to everyone. World Government? You are increasingly desperate to hold on to power.
Regardless of which theory about the true nature of wealth appears to be correct, the world the series is set on has been forever changed by demand. While fans continue to speculate and scrutinize every piece of information from Big Mom, which seems to imply that at least part of the treasure is in Wano, to possible hints found in the song “Binks Sake,” this adventure has been the biggest in anime history, and it won’t end anytime soon.
