TrumpRx expands with 2 new drugmakers offering prescription drug discounts

Specialties: The White House is expected to announce an increase in drugmakers offering discounts on TrumpRx.gov, FOX Business has learned.

Starting today, Amgen and GSK will be added to the list of prescription drug manufacturers offering discounts on the government website. That makes a total of 54 prescription drugs from six pharmaceutical companies that have signed on to the Most Favored Nation prices under pressure from President Donald Trump and the threat of tariffs.

Amgen will offer the drug on the website at an 80% discount on the retail price. Amjevita has an original price of $1,484.18, but will be available on TrumpRx.gov for $299. The drug treats rheumatoid arthritis, psoriasis and ulcerative colitis.

“GSK and Amgen connecting with TrumpRx.gov to offer prescription drugs directly to consumers at Most Favored Nation prices marks another milestone in President Trump’s push,” White House spokesman Kush Desai told FOX Business. “TrumpRx.gov is just the beginning, however, as Americans are set for big drug price discounts, lower insurance premiums, and less transparency when Congress passes President Trump’s Big Health Care Plan.”

CEO Stephen Ubl believes, “Many government-imposed policies will undermine US competitiveness while doing nothing to address insurance practices that deny care and increase costs for patients.”

“These policies will take billions out of American R&D, slow the pace of medicine and increase reliance on China for future innovations,” Ubl said.
