TikTok Star Riziki Ilenre, 27, Cause of Death Revealed

The Alabama Department of Science confirmed that People on Thursday, March 5, that Ilenre died by suicide. The department told the agency that the content creator “has a reported history of depression and previous suicide attempts.”

The creator, who became famous online for his comedy videos, died on Friday, December 12. His account appeared to be inactive after his death.

A spokesperson for the Montgomery Police Department in Alabama tells Us Weekly that the investigation into Ilenre’s death is “ongoing” and no further information is available at this time.

After Ilenre’s death, the church in Carrollton, Georgia, paid tribute to the social media star in a statement.

“Our church family is mourning the loss of a much loved and deeply cherished person, Riziki Ilenre,” Church Without Walls wrote on Facebook on Saturday, December 13. “She was part of our ministry family, a bright and intelligent lady, full of purpose, faith, and promise. She served faithfully, finished college, and pursued her dream of formal schooling, and her life was meaningful.

The statement went on to say, “This is not a time for speculation or easy answers, this is a time for sadness, compassion and love. Scripture reminds us that even Jesus stopped and cried when faced with loss and today our community cries, today we mourn.”

The church asked to “pray for his family, all those who love him, and anyone who is struggling with deep pain in silence.”

The statement concluded, “May we honor his memory by loving more, obeying better, and protecting each other more fiercely.”

“Although I didn’t talk to this lady like that, I was surprised when I found out that she died, but when I talked to this lady, she brought joy to my heart because she was full of life and had a good spirit and a great personality. I remember I tried to talk to her and she refused. It was good and nice, but we remained friends and she was full of joy and happiness until I meet again with all this. May my friend rest in peace, RIP,” wrote one user, while another added, “I pray for the whole family.”

Sincerely, Walter D’Andre Green – an apostle at the Church Without Walls – honored Ilenre as “his daughter – not by blood, but completely spiritually.”

“His smile was contagious,” a statement read on Facebook on Saturday. His strength and determination were unmatched. His loyalty and honor were unshakable.”

The statement continued, “I had the privilege of seeing her grow from a poor sophomore to college into a young woman preparing to take on the world as a law student. She was smart, driven, and fearless in her thoughts. One thing about Rizi – she loved to argue. She excelled in apologetics and theology, and I think that’s part of the reason why we were loved, and we feared the truth.”

He concluded his message by noting that “it had been a long day” and he had “very little sleep.”

“And I’ll be honest – this hurts a lot. I’m still processing it. But even in the pain, I rest in this: Riziki is safe forever now,” he wrote. “No more worries. No more fighting. No more carrying what wasn’t his. Just peace.”
