Tiger Woods’ gun was released Friday night, hours after he was arrested on a DUI charge following a car accident in Florida.
Woods’ eyes appeared red, while wearing a blue polo shirt inside the Martin County Jail in Florida.
Martin County Sheriff John Budensiek confirmed at a press conference that Woods was traveling at a “high rate of speed” when his vehicle collided with another vehicle, causing his vehicle to roll onto the driver’s side.

Authorities said Woods “exemplified signs of depravity.” He blew “three zeros” for alcohol but refused a urine test.
“DUI investigators came to the scene here, and Mr. Woods showed signs of impairment. They did several tests on him. Of course, he explained the injuries and surgeries he had. We considered that, but they did a thorough road test,” Budensiek added.
“We really didn’t suspect alcohol was involved in this case, and that proved to be true at the jail. … But when it came time for us to ask for a urine test, he refused. And, therefore, he was charged with DUI, criminal damage to property and refusing to submit to a legal test.”
Woods was seen on the phone after the crash, wearing navy blue shorts.
Woods was charged with DUI, vandalism and refusing to submit to probation, all misdemeanors. No one was injured, authorities said. Woods was alone in the car and crawled out of the passenger door after the crash.

“This could have been worse,” Budensiek noted.
President Donald Trump on the arrest of his “very close friend.”
“I feel bad. You’re having a hard time,” Trump said. “There was an accident, and that’s all I know. He’s my closest friend. He’s a wonderful person, a wonderful man, but some difficulties.”
Woods has not commented on the arrests.
Woods is currently dating Trump’s fiancée, Vanessa, whose daughter, Kai, will play college golf in Miami next week.
This is Woods’ second DUI arrest in the past decade. In 2017, he was arrested, also on Jupiter Island, after taking drugs and falling asleep behind the wheel of a speeding car at 3 am.
In 2021, he was involved in an accident that resulted in a serious leg injury that kept him off the golf course for a year.

Woods returned to competitive golf earlier this week at the TGL tournament after tearing his Achilles shortly before last year’s Masters (this year’s tournament is less than two weeks away). Woods has not appeared on the links since the 2024 PGA Championship, where he missed the cut.
