Tiger Woods Fans Show Support With Cup Shot T-shirts at Houston Open

As the saying goes, the devil works fast, but the internet works fast.

Or, in this case, golf fans act fast.

Just one day later Tiger Woods‘ cup shot was released following his recent DUI arrest, fans of the Houston Open golf tournament in Texas were already rocking custom t-shirts with a photo in support of the legendary golfer.

The white shirts feature a mug shot of Woods front and center, with “#FreeTiger” printed underneath.

Fans wore shirts during the third round of the PGA Championship on Saturday, March 28. The final round is scheduled for Sunday, March 29.

Woods, 50, was arrested on Friday, March 27, after being involved in a rollover car accident in Jupiter Island, Florida. The 15-time champion was charged with DUI, vandalism and refusing to submit to a legal test after he refused a urine test after authorities arrived at the scene of the accident.

Although his breathalyzer test resulted in three zeros, suggesting that Woods was not under the influence of alcohol at the time of the accident, authorities suspected that Woods was under the influence of medication or drugs.

“An investigation began and from the surface, it appeared that the driver of the Land Rover may have been impaired,” said the Martin County Sheriff. John Budensiek at a press conference on Friday. “And at that time, the chief of the Jupiter Island Police Department called me at the Martin County Sheriff’s Office and asked for our help.

He continued, “We know we arrested a high-ranking person … but it doesn’t matter who he is. If you break the law, we will follow the law. That’s a really easy way.”

Woods’ shooting emerged Friday after his arrest, along with photos of the crash. By Saturday afternoon, fans had already printed the image on t-shirts at the Houston Open.
